New Generation of Bullet-Proof Vests Produced in Iran (Made in Mullah)

Today's typical bullet-proof vests have limitations preventing new generation battle standard calibers like 7.63 and could only be effective %100 in front of 9 mm caliber bullets. But a new design called "Dragon Skin Vest" first designed in United States can easily beat more lethal calibers and now it is produced in Iran.

These vests are very light and weight only 2.5 kg. The armored plates are made of ceramic and thanks to the formation of plates it is very flexible with high level of freedom of movement. Due to overlapping of plates it is also very strong in preventing all types of light weapons, including 5.56 mm calibers like M-16 and M-4 or 7.62 mm calibers like AK-47 rifles. It also showed great resistance when tested by a Anti-Personnel Grenade fired from a short distance.

actually there are a lot of plates that can stand against 7.62 rounds , even in the same area without even leaving any impact on the user, even SVDs up close

of course there are many vests that stand against 7.62 mm..but the article says the experts seen many problems with current metal or kevlar plate vests when exposed to battle grade new 7.62 bullets...

This vest easily stops 7.62 and acts very good against anti-personnel grenades + it is flexible + it only weight 2.5 kg

PS: This is not the only design Iran is producing... There is another type of vest that uses new material that get hardened like titanium when hit hard by a bullet and then after impact becomes back a soft gel like vest...

The reason the US military banned Dragon Skin was because it failed their own tests. You can view their documentation via the following link:

The discs didn't stop rounds they were advertised they could on multiple occasions, the adhesive that holds the discs together apparently came undone when exposed to sudden temp shifts causing the discs to fall and expose vitals, they weigh almost 20 lbs more then the interceptor armor (47.5 lbs vs. 28 lbs), etc...

There was an MSNBC expose on this a while back where they tried to prove the army lied about the armor but the thing is that those news channels never exposed these vests to actual combat conditions. This "expose" was what eventually lead to the US military releasing their test findings to finally shut down criticism that there was anything mischievous going on with regards to the selection process.

Iran should put these through a host of tests before deploying them because from what I've read they're no good.

so Iran copied the idea of Dragon Skin or is it called Fish Scale?

47.5 Pounds? wow... it is nearly 22 kgs!! Iranian design is only 2.5 kg which is about 6 pounds... there are many stories from US that one weapon despite it being superior to other designs could not find its way to army... mostly because Weapon Industry in US are very much tied up with politicians... it is exposed many times in US history that some politicans stopped specific products due to their links to some weapon manufacturing groups.... and I don't think Iranian commanders let their soldiers put these on unless they are tested over and over...
