New Deal - 10 policy decisions for Pakistan

Yes I agree. Pakistan is too soft on India. The best way forward would be to introduce realism in regards to India by.

1. Increase in nuclear deterance and adoption of aggresive nuclear posture but with reduction in conventional forces. The saving going into stabilizing internal security. Aim for submarine nuclear option.

2. Trade embargo with India. Nothing in, nothing out. No money in, no money out. Copy American's viz Iran style.

3. People lockdown. No person goes to India, no person allowed into Pakistan from India. Anybody who goes, not allowed back. Adnan Sami etc bye bye.

4. No Indian aircraft allowed over Pakistan. No Pak aircraft allowed over India.

Emphasis to fix and slowly improve relations with Afghanistan. Declare a look North West policy. Iran, Turkey, Central Asia figure heavily with China as the anchor.

Elephant memory - Israel recognized but Bangladesh unrocognized. Pull out the embassy there. Hello? 1971. Well I have long memory. 100 years as cooling period. 2071 awaits.

how is point 1 going to help? please explain what as per you what is aggressive nuclear posture??

.
Add one more thing ... Lets unite with india to form akhand bharat ... Now recipie is complete ...

Pakistan is created in the name of religion and you are proposing to keep religion out of pakista then whats the point of our existence ? As a secular person india would be a similar country ...

I don't think so. Study the Turkish-Greek relationship and you'll understand my point. Turkey and Greece are two very secular countries even in the same military organization that are hating each other. Religion is just one factor. In fact, the easing of tension between both nations started actually with a conservative Muslim politician: R.T. Erdogan.
You are oversimplifying your problematic relationship with India. It's not all about religion. Granted, religion plays an important role but it's just one factor. A secular Pakistan is not going to resemble India. This shouldn't be your concern.

.
I agree with most of your suggestions but we must remember why Pakistan was established and for whom

Some of your suggestions would cause irreversible irreparable conflict in Pakistan

Others would be fine within reason

But no 11 in a time where nations and cultures are trying to assert themselves and find their rootsis a no no

.
name of religion
You need to get your history facts right. Pakistan came about as a accident and mistake by Nehru. He refused the Cabinet Mission Plan when Jinnah had accepted it. Nehru's refusal led to events leading to partition.

In addition the previous entity (pre 1947) was British India - not India and was made by British East India Company. Therefore you want to revert pre 1947 call the British back and have a union with India, Bangladesh and Burma [Myanmar] under British Raj.

British Raj ......

*Ps Before the British Raj there existed the Sikh Empire, the Sindh ruled by Mirs of Talpur etc. There never existed this Akhan Bharat you refer to. If it did do please state when.

.
My friend @Sinopakfriend suggested I put forth some ideas I would like Pakistan to adopt as national policy. Here is my list.

1. Recognize State of Israel - this is a land dispute between European settlers and native Palestinian Arabs. It's all about land, plain and simple. There are Christians, Muslims on the Palestinian side. Both are as opposed to the European settlers underlining that this is not about religion. It is plain land grab. Most of the Arab countries directly involved and those who actually fought Israel have recognized that country. Others like GCC/KSA are in in bed with Isreal behind the door. We see this with the tango in Syria or the shared hatred for Iran.

So it is time Pakistan dropped this deadweight around it's neck and moved forward. No the heavens are not going to rain down with gold dust but Pakistan will find it that more easier to traverse the geo-political scene as it will be free from the burden that Pakistan presently carries. We need to leverage foreign policy on basis of absolute 'self interest'.

2. Pakistan government avoids itself in engaging wth or getting involved in religious issue or theological matters as that is a endless pit of grief and is best left in hands of the mullahs.

3. Inspired by China a 'profieering law' is passed which makes it illegal to use religion as vehicle for any type of gain. Accounts are checked and those who use religion for making money get justice fast.

4. Hate law is passed. It is serious crime for any person to discriminate, incite hatred of any group within Pakistan. all citizens are equal.

5. Mass public campaign to reduce population growth rate. Economic penalties are imposed on those having more than 3 children. Media, mullahs are used to bring societal change.

6. Mass education law passed. All citizens between 18-19 are drafted for 12 month public duty service. Building public utilities, parks, cleaning and those with good education grades drafted into 'education corp' and sent all over Pakistan to raise literacy.

7. Most public companies like PIA sold. Let private sector sort out the economy. The state only helps, encourages, lays policy and creates level playing field.

8. Increased expenditure on nuclear deterance but reduced expendture on conventional forces. Possible 30% reducation in military size. Increase in size of internal security force managed at federal level.

9. Education that reinforces a secular thinking and focus on the now, the mundane like cleanliness, orderliness, respectfulness, respect for the law, civil duty rather than spiritual trappings.

10. Increased exchange with Chinese to learn the recipe that made that country hurtle toward the sky.

11. Dumping of Arabic characters and adoption of Roman so to make reading, writing easier inthe age of computers. Roman is used by Pakistani's in sites like this and other places - why not go the full monty?

12. A entire revamping of Pakistani history books. Start at 100,000 yeares BCE with Soanian Age then move forward era by era the momentous events that have played out on the Indus valley - the foundation of Pakistan. Creating a more holistic identity based on land and tradition. Infuse pride in the land that is Pakistan. From birthplace of civilization (Harappa, Mohenjo Daro, Rehman Dheri etc) on to modern day - so as to fortify nation building and address the chronic inferiority complex that afflicts too many Pakistan who then seek refuge in jihadi Islam as identity and political vehicle leading to the fractious voilence the country faces.

13. Copying the Turkish model all religious bodies are taken over by a state 'dinyiat' that regulates and brings religion in harmony with the state.

@TaiShang @Sinopakfriend @KediKesenFare @Ottoman123 Thoughts? Others can include or exclude ideas.

Seriously.. man i thought you were saner than this..Other than some really good suggestions rest are a perfect recipe to get a Khomeini like regime in power.. will give mutiny within the establishment. For example the script thing is such a stupid mistake .i dont even want to comment over it...

.
Too late for Pakistan, the rot of religious extremism mixed with feaudal thought has already set in stone.

.
I don't think so
This is stupid childish, weak argument propounded by the Islamists - those who very much opposed Pakistan in the first place as nation state was a anathema to them. At any rate ask this guy has Bangladesh coalesced back into India?

Further this India he talks about is the pre 1947 British India which had this flag.

600px-British_Raj_Red_Ensign.svg.png

And it was made by British, ruled by British. It was not a country but a colony in a empire that stretched from Afghanistan to Thailand.

1280px-Brit_IndianEmpireReligions3.jpg

Those who talk of this 'India' are in fact worshipping British India - a artificial colony made by British using military force to bind a huge number of people across large part of Asia. To revert to that status would mean calling Britain back and aggregating Burma, Bangladesh in a colony run by London. Status Quo Ante 1947. Furthermore the fallacy of religion as being a 'glue' is there for all to see. In 1971 Bangladesh went it's own way.

Furthermore why do we have Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Oman, Saudia Arabia, Kuwait, Uzbekistan and rest of the Muslim countries instead of one huge ummah coast to coast if religion alone was the magical superglue. It is preposterous notoin and intellectually redundant and only fit to fire up the ignorants.

I would humbly like to request you study history of Pakistan ...

We know turks as a nation ... They have certain culture ...

Do you know any nation Pakistani in any history ???

Pakistan is no nation by any definition other then religion ... Four province of pakistan do not share language culture or anything at all ... The only thing we share islam ...

We segregate islam from state apakistan rthen why would a sindhi will live with punjabi when on ethenical basis they hate each other ... On the same basis pathan would like to go with afghans as they have same ethinicity ...

Bro its a recipie for disaster ... Those who live outside pak cannot understand the ground realities...

The basic essence of separation from india was islam so if you keep it out then no reason for pakistan

What a great twisting of fact ... And hiw will you change recorded statement of Allama iqbal in his Allabad address of muslim league ?

Hiw can you change wordings of pakistan declaration ... You are living in lala land ...

Furthermore dont tell me what jamat.e.islami did ... Jamat.e.islami is not owner of islam ... Whatever jamat.e.islami decision was based on that time had nothing to do with millions of people who created pakistan for islam

Now I know my ideas might sound crazy or revolutionery but that is how it is. My opinion was asked for by @Sinopakfriend and I gave it. In conclusion I would say this though. Crazy as it may sound.

In 1933 there was a young Cambridge student who had a wild dream whilst living in UK. His idea was crazy for it's time. As he explained his idea to his friend in UK they all laughed it off but he would not give up. Eventually he printed a pamphlet. A copy below for your referance.

Now_or_never.jpg

The students name was Rehmat Ali and the idea and the name he proposed became reality 14 years later. I have no doubt the Chinese are going to knock some secular sense into Pakistan and the beauty of it all? There is no place to hide from the Chinese. Certainly not with the West.

@TaiShang

You are living in lala land ...
Yeh. Sure. Better than living in land of bah, bah, bah ...

And I have read more books than you have hair on your head - count them Mr Accountant.

Four province of pakistan do not share language culture or anything at all ... The only thing we share islam ...
Ask him do they have Kurds, Circassians, Assyrians, Bosnians in Turkey? Ask him what binds them together in this 'secular Turkey'? Has Turkey fallen apart? did Pakistan fall apart in 1971?

And as regards Dr. Allama Iqbal have you read his 'Reconstruction of Islamic thought in Islam'? What does he suggest in that reading of his?

Is Pakistan's national identity really that weak and fragile?

Who said anything about being afraid. it's all about self interest. Have clarity of thought. Focus on the real threat rather than diffuse your energy over many targets. India is the external enemy. Thus aggresive nuclear posture with clear unambigous 'you there. we here' policy. Bangladesh - the only people who faciliated the biggest debacle in history of this country. 55,000 brave men. In their memory 100 years lockdown. Simple really. Very binary.

Turkey will make it within 10 years I reckon. Pakistan started late and did not have leader like Ataturk to navigate it in right direction. Thus delayed and behind.

But this is land was cradle of civilization. It will reclaim it's past glory.

I'd say a little longer than 10-years...More like 15-20-years, but i'd love to be proven wrong of course.
This is because of terrorism from outsiders on our lands. Which is why it took nations like ours so long to get to where we want.
Better late than never i suppose.

Pakistan came about as a accident and mistake by Nehru.

Dear if you are telling us the first cabinet mission plan was an idea of a secular country (that ML accepted) in sense how you lay it in your recommendations in first post then you are just doing a forgery of history, back then defintion of a secularism was more of a capital that promotes religious harmony ONLY and it couldnt stop a muslim majority region to adopt sheria or have a hindu majority state stop hindutva .The majority states' based on religion' were referred to be having maximum autonomy with a loosely binding capital.Nehru never wanted a weak Delhi and he knew the secessionist future in such a case and therefore he refused, not just that he as also under pressure from the communal HIndu which was not ready share with the other regions .

. .
absolute 'self interest'
If its in our self interest to massacre people somewhere we should go ahead then? We need some semblance of morality in our ideology I think. Whatever USA is doing in Mid-East is "good" if "absolute self interest" is the measure of good and bad.

Is Pakistan's national identity really that weak and fragile?
For staunch secularists it is. They identify themselves with Hindu culture.

.
All the best mate. I notice Turkish football is producing some great players. Back in 1998 I saw your team play in Euro game in Sheffield.

Quotient minus 75 ....
That we do have. Emre Mor and Enes Unal are potentially world class players for us. Our Midfield is good too. Hakan Calhanoglu is a player I rate highly.
Nuri Sahin and Arda Turan are good experienced players to guide the youngsters.

Abdulkerim Omur is a younger player that is highly rated , i will follow his progress closely .

France will dominate football for the next decade though, and Portugal and Germany challenging them.
