For gawds sakes can't we design buildings that look slightly attractive or if not at least just functional. These hideous, over contrived and pooorly built structures seem to ruin all of Pakistan. They age terribly. Within few years they look 100 years old ugly things.

I think border fencing should be extended to Pak-Iran border as well when the funds are available and Pakistan and Iran should do it jointly because both countries have suffered from cross border activities.

Everything depends on the economy so I would say it is a pretty big upgrade... but when the economy becomes better, we can construct better buildings. Also, if you watch this video from start, you will hear her leaving Iran with mixed feelings and she was pretty nervous about visiting Pakistan but when she left Pakistan after 45 days, her views about Pakistan changed a lot and after she completed her trip in Indonesia going through all the countries like India, Myanmar, Thailand etc... she highly recommended Pakistan for everyone especially female travellers. So in the end, building and structure are important but not as much as the behaviour of the people. Our enemies, media and even self-hating people may portray Pakistan in bad light but the few foreigners who have visited Pakistan, have positive things to say.

I hope so too..BTW KBY was travelling through legal visa I guess, he did not cross the border illegally and that's how mastermind and top agents act. They won't take petty risks.. what he did after entering the country is a different story.

In fact i n some cases a more functional building might even be cheaper as it is sans all the stupid decorations on it. And i mentioned this because they build a new building and had opportunity to design something decent.

Sir, beauty is a pretty subjective thing...to me it looks pretty decent and not much decoration there except a few arches... Also I believe, that it looks much better in reality than pics... because somehow our homes don't look good in pics but once you are there, they are pretty good and feel luxurious and the reason is that we do not design with photography in mind. Here in Sweden, homes are pretty simple and more functional but they appear much better in photographs both from inside and outside and that has to do with minimalism and color schemes.

The buildings in the UK that were built in the 1960s, are similarly awful, the ugly tower blocks, public libraries etc.

Much better and functional designs now.
