. . . . . . . .
Looks to me some sort of additional receiver pod connected right to the engine skin.

Yaraa Hyperion can a F-7 sized unarmed drone with RCS reduction features serve as a mini AWAC of sorts in the manner of speaking that it provides us, interfacing with mobile ground-stations, instant coverage for everything in a 200-250 km radius ! In contrast to these huge birds that may accrue other benefits but might also be huge blots on any decent radar & may not have the kind of range that a MALE UAV provides ?

.
Apparently the bulge present on both engines facing to the left, kinda asymmetrical configuration, so any ideas what that might be?

Wonder what is the bulge on the left engine
That's part of the engines:

It's called the engine nacelle bulge. It is for a larger or second generator to power the aircraft with. This is the position where the IDG sits on the engine main gearbox. On normal 737NG aircraft, it fits under the standard cowling, but a bigger generator installed on this aircraft is to cater for the power requirements of the electronic equipment. Here's the zoom...

Hope that helps!

Armstrong, how much payload can an aircraft of the size of a F-7 carry? That is the critical issue here; both the Scanner and all the associated electronic equipment are quite a hefty package. If its all scaled down to fit a small aircraft like the F-7 (if at all possible) it will lack any serious capability or range. That is without even going into the MALE UAV aspects.

The engine nacelles will be the most unlikely places to fix sensors on to.

That bulge is on the engine cowling, so I doubt it is in anyway related to the AWACS system. Maybe housing some engine components.

Remember, the 737's engines are not a perfect circle, but rather go flat at the bottom and wide on the sides. This is because the aircraft was so low, that if the engines were perfectly circular, they would not have enough clearance from the ground, so the systems (pipes, etc) on the bottom were shifted to the sides, so that adequate ground clearance was there.

I think some additional mods were done to the engine cowling?

Thank you guys, make sense that it is related to engines themselves.
