Balochistan Sports Festival 2014 begins on 22nd March

QUETTA: Balochistan Minister for Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Mujeebur Rehman said on Tuesday that the government has taken the decision to conduct Balochistan Sports Festival 2014 to provide a chance of entertainment and sporting opportunities to the people of Balochistan.

In a press conference in Quetta Press Club on Tuesday, he said that the festival would start from March 22 and would continue till the 29th, and would feature competitions of 26 different sports. The minister said that a Sports Week would be held in Quetta and there would be competitions among 800 contestants from six divisions of the province. He said that the government has provided sixty million for the Sports Week and added that the National Games would be held in the province, following the sports week.

Mujeebur-Rehman said that if the youngsters of Balochsitan are provided with ample opportunities, it would be easier for them to make their place in the national teams. He was of the view that due to lack of the sporting activities in Balochistan, there is a general uncertainty amongst the youngsters. The minister added that the government has also decided to introduce and encourage sports activities at school level. He said that inter-school and university competitions would also be held among the colleges and universities.

Rehman told the media personnel that the competitions would be held in cycling, chess, squash, racing, boxing, badminton and other sports. He added that a marathon race would be held from the airport and the inter provincial competitions would also be held in the future. Chief minister's spokesperson Jan Muhammad Buledi, Secretary Sports Hafiz Basit, Director Sports Nazar Baloch and Khair Jan Baloch were also present on the occasion.

No need KP lacks basic facilities.
PTI governments stance regarding the taliban sucks but they are smart enough to realize the situation in KP. Any extra funds should be spent on Law enforcement and education .

PTI has planned to develop playing grounds in every district at first and then at every Tehsil and town in second phase !

Good news for the Baloch youth, sports are seriously needed not just in Balochistan but also in the entire country.....

Plus KPK was after all a part of Punjab during British India (early 1900s) so that essentially makes you & the rest of the Pukhtoons - Punjabis from Peshawar ! :p:

I want all Provinces of Pakistan to be abolished & each division be made a Province instead (or 2-3 divisions combined if a single division isn't economically feasible) ! :)

Which means Peshawar Division, Multan Division, Quetta Division, Gwadar Division, Abottabad Division, Karachi Division etc. be made into Provinces ! :)

In time this ethno-linguistic nationalism & provincialism that shows its ugly face every now & then would become a thing of the past & we would all be proud to call ourselves Pakistanis first, second & last as Our Father wanted ! :kiss3:

But of course we won't loose our Ethnicities or our Linguistic Affiliations & you'd still remain a Chubby Khan Sahib who can't walk two steps without panting & I'd still remain a Toned Masculine Kashmiri who is fondly called as the 'Ladies Man' ! :D
