I can't invalidate your pal's GF's experience, though it doesn't change the broader picture, imo. War,truly is crap! What exactly happened before this situation unfolded? This isn't an excuse but could smth have precipitated this atrocity?

As part of Nisei community in Indonesia, myself acknowledge Imperial Japan is not a Savior for many Asian Countries. Many people suffering painful experiences during Japanese occupation and my deceased grandpa it self is an IJA vet told me about his regret and misconduct in the past

Actually a lot of Indians love Japanese. More power to them! Sometimes I would like to visit Yasukuni Shrine and pay homage to brave Japanese enshrined there.

My great grand-uncle was shot and tortured to death in Burma by japs. It sickens me when Pakistanis, Indians and other south asian embrace and worship japanese culture. They are twisted, racist savages who should be reminded of their misdeeds.

That's not true.

The only difference is Allied nations conveniently hid behind the atrocities of Germany and Japan while having millions more killed in their former colonies or their places of interest. Japan and Germany came out in the open because they were used as 'shields' while showing Allies as heroes.

It would be interesting to know what:

1- UK
2- France
3- USSR
4- US
5- Belgium

Did in their colonies across the world.

If you see their atrocities, Japanese and German would look quite less.

Feel free.

They killed your people too, made you fight each other and ruined an entire generation through opium, exploitation and brutal torture.

And you think didn't kill you Indian people only you guys just want to sweep all your shame under the carpet as what British had done to you guys for over 200 years.

Japan became superpower because it rejected religion and made a secular religion out of their emperor..Time and again it has been proven, you need to drop religious and superstitious mindset to make it in the Scientific/Industrial Age..This is why China has an edge over any other country in Asia
