Network Centric Warfare (NCW) in Pakistan

NCW has emerged as defining concept of information age warfare by networking sensors,Decision makers and shooters to maximize combat effectiveness.A network centric force enjoys timely availability of reliable, credible information shared situation awareness, collaboration and self synchronization which leads to dramatic increase in command and combat efficiency.
Network centric operations provide a force with access to a new (previously unreachable) region of information domain and at the same time synergize the effects of information already available with various agencies and sensors.
Pakistan army is process of validating its new NCW based war fighting concept in ongoing Exercise Azm-e-Nau III. During Phase I of the exercise held in the Cholistan Desert, this concept was successfully implemented at tri service level.During this Phase output of all type of sensors was successfully integrated and was shared between all stake holders.Resultantly operational efficiency and response time improved tremendously. This is start of a new beginning. It is aimed to incorporate modern day scientific warfare gadgetry and techniques in war fighting mechanism. This new step is surely expected to keep us at par with modern contemporary armies.Pakistan army is significantly improving its combat efficiency by integrating information operations with combat echelons in a NCW environment thus ensuring cohesive employment of all components of Battle field.

Pakistan feels that if its fight against terrorism has become inevitable,it cannot leave its eastern borders at the promises of its expedient friends. As pointed out by Dr.Henry Kissinger, the former US secretary of state that "in the international politics there neither exists permanent friend nor permanent foe".
Rather these are national interests of the state which determine their future course of action It is beyond doubt that international politics is essentially a struggle for power. It is attributed to security competition and inter state conflicts, mainly arose owing to the lack of an overarching authority above states and the relative distribution of power in the international system.
Through exercise Azm-e-Nau III the adversary has been given a clear message that though armed forces of Pakistan are heavily committed in their fight against terrorism along western borders, they are equally effective and vigilant along the eastern front. In this regard there is a total consensus between the civil and military leadership of the country as well as the backing of the masses to armed forces.
As amply clear from the first phase of the exercise, through the technological advancements of Al-Khalid tank and Anza Mark II missiles,F-16s and JF-17 Thunder Aircrafts there is massive fire power available to meet any future challenges.
This combination of fire power and a renewed strategic planning, there is a clear message that Pakistan is capable of dealing with any misadventure of the adversaries.

They can still get the upgrade kits and new missiles.

Had they waited just a little longer ! They would have got the ultimate Mk-3 in service with the armed forces of Pakistan ...
