And sure, it's good for both India and China. At the time, our exports are increasing too. Without BRI. And that's what I have been saying. Why do you need BRI really? And why should India join?
BRI is good to open previously inaccessible markets into the world economy. Globalization so far mostly/heavily benefited coastlines, especially in Eurasia, but inland areas benefited much less. BRI makes globalization whole (and great) again.
You are simply talking about trade. BRI is about investment and trade. Rather China's loan spree as it looks.
There is not much loan spree. In fact, it is never enough. East Asia is not India. We need development and quality life. As per ADB, East Asia will need about $1 trillion USD worth of investment in basic infrastructure for the next two decades. India has probably enough infrastructure for its people.
China, through the AIIB, only contributes (rather selectively) a little to East Asian/Eurasian infrastructure development. In fact, more money is needed if SEA is not going to end up a second India.
That's why the AIIB and the ADB are cooperating on more joint projects. Because, a richer East Asia means a better consumption and investment market for both China and Japan. We need markets. We can make almost everything and make rather well. We need to be able to sell them.
And the time for? You are just ranting at Indian system. While Entire south Asia follows democracy like India. There will be elections, who are you mocking really? You think people will relocate or move on just like some commi nation? Here there are rights and property is not owned by a party. Good luck dealing with democracies.
No two systems are the same. Historically impossible. You may call India a democracy until Ganges gets clean, but, it won't change the fact that India is a democracy in Indian characteristics. So, adopting the name does not automatically enlist you with the rest of successful democracies (which are not the same with each other, as well). You worship titles, we worship outcomes. I guess, and hope, most of SEA also worship outcomes.
So, I believe that SEA system now develops in line with their own characteristics and they are already more successful than India. So far.
