ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday while rejecting the unconditional apology of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Nehal Hashmi has sentenced him to one month jail time.

The three judge bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa announced the verdict in contempt of court case against Hashmi for delivering hate speech against judges. Hashmi, along with the jail sentence, has also been ordered to pay a fine of Rs50,000.

. . . .
Should have jailed him 12 months , 30 days was quite lenient Judges need to be Practical

Nawaz Sharif/Maryam Badmash / Showbaz Sharif all need to get summoned to court for Threatening comments against Supreme court

Rough Translation of what this Old Fart stated

"We the workers of the political party , will make it your judgement day. Those of you who dare to take an accountability of our Nawaz Shairf, let it be known that you the accountability takers will "retire" and once you do we will make the Land of Pakistan a very Trecherous and difficult for you and your Children"

"If you make it hard for our Superrior Chracter bearer Nawaz Sharif , tomorrow us Pakistani (mostly meaning hand ful of political workers) will make your life difficult "

This was a extraordinary Threatening message to pressurzie the Judges , right after they gave the Guilty Verdict

The Supreme Court on Thursday sentenced Senator Nehal Hashmi to one-month imprisonment and barred him from holding public office for the next five years as it announced its verdict in the contempt of court case registered against the former PML-N stalwart.

A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, also imposed a fine of Rs50,000 on the senator.

Further, the bench dismissed an unconditional apology, which Hashmi had submitted to the court on January 24 for his threatening video message against "those investigating" former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his family.

As the verdict was announced, Hashmi was taken into custody by police from the courtroom.

Just one month? WTF. I was reading it was one year but nevertheless one month is a joke.

Good
More strictly need to be settled on open threatening cases.

ban @Kabira for life time.

Good job, times are changing. Should have been 6 months tho!

. . .
One month is symbolic.. but the period of disqualification will hurt him the most..
I think the SC of Pakistan needs to move past handing over mere symbolic punishments and rather make an example out of these A holes. Otherwise no body is going to back out specially Baadsha Salamat after this.
And i do hope that this symbolic punishment is not handed over to NS.
