I dont think you havew been there yourself. Its supposed to be very beautiful and pristine. The people are quite nice too, from what i know. I think 48 hours is a wild exaggeration.

I would absolutely LOVE that. I was only planning for one month in pakistan and one month in india....now there are so many places, so little time.

And what about pakistan? Is it like india where you cannot hire cars for self drive?

AVIS offers self drive service in Pakistan. I do remember they have offices in all major cities of Pakistan (Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi)

India is such a vast country that one trip is not sufficient to view all the aspects of India.... However I would suggest you visit the islands of Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar besides the mainland, if time permits you of course. These tropical islands are absolutely scenic away from the hassle of cities.
