Nearly one-third of Turkey’s wall along Syria complete

Why not, there a range of weapon systems able to do that?
It might work or not i dont know but what i know is we would get hell of a shyt storm from all over the world for this and get compared to east germany.

I think the days of us caring what others think should be over.
Just take a look at where it brought is,the situation we are in.

Its not only dangerous but also sounds unlikely, lets see what comes out of it.

Put as much defensive weapons, walls and wires as possible on the border. In Israel walls are helping a lot with keeping possible threats out. Building walls is not something to be ashamed of- they are doing it all over Europe and soon in the US if Trump get's elected.

Build that wall! :D

It's over. Refugees can't enter Turkey anymore. But I have mixed feelings and some doubts about this closed-border policy. :/

They will have official entry gates and trade points in selected border points? no?

There was before a minefield which solved this problem, look at those Walls, you just need a ladder and can climb over it, it´s a good Joke.

article say they will build a barbed wire fence along wall.. it will not help? also patrolling on border will help you so it seems good..

.
What good will a wall be when a VBIED gets sent in?

We need to dig big *** trenches/ditches 50/100 meter in front of the wall and put ATGM teams as well as SARP and stmap/stop systems. Or instead of ATGM team put a m113/acv with tow launcher (only launcher visible, rest hidden/barricaded in).

Turkey starts building automatic shooting gun towers at Syrian border

As a part of measures to increase security on its border with Syria, Turkey begins building smart military towers that can warn and fire automatically

Following the recent cross-border rocket attacks from the Daesh-held areas in northern Syria that killed dozens of civilians in Turkish border city of Kilis, Turkish security authority has hastened building security measures along the border line.

Turkish Defense Ministry said the establishment of a smart tower every 300 meters along the border with Syria to prevent illegal crossing was going at full speed.

Turkey has already sealed hundreds of kilometers of the border, either with concrete blocks or wire fencing.

In the border city of Kilis, the construction of a concrete wall is nearly complete as the ministry started to build smart watch towers at 300-meter intervals.

The towers will be integrated with a computerized system that would feature a 3-language alarm system and automated firing systems.

Turkish military technology manufacturer ASELSAN will install the high-tech program, including machine guns, thermal cameras, and alert systems that will be activated if any element comes within 300 meters of the border line.

An automated speaker from the tower will warn the element or person in three languages to leave the area immediately. It the element doesn't leave the area, an automated machine gun will start firing at it.

According to the ministry the smart towers will also be established across Syrian border with the Hatay, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa and Mardin provinces.

Turkish army had deployed storm howitzers to the border as military drones have been conducting surveillance flights on the Daesh-held areas across the border.

Authorities said, hundreds of Daesh terrorists have been killed in recent artillery shellings as dozens of weapon depots and Daesh positions have also been destroyed.

It seems that this time the goverment is really serious.

I like the automated gun towers. semi-automatic high caliber precision instrument would be good.

Also I second that we need to dig a canyon, make it 50m deep, 25m wide, and extend it to the mediterranian sea, and let the water fill it up, dead people will sink or be washed away. perhaps with sharks we won't have that many issues.

.
I like the idea about the sharks but how much money will that cost? :D

.
no idea, but perhaps crocodiles would serve the purpose as well, only problem is they need land to live on, and might get the hots for our barbed wire.

Well I hope this serves as a Pimp slap across the face of anyone that says wall cannot be built of afghan border! at least build where it is possible to build it!
Where there is a (political) will, there is a way!

If China is able to build a 10.000 km wall 2700 years ago, so Pakistan should also able to build up a wall to Afghanistan today.
One would think that but unfortunately Pakistanis are not Chinese when it comes to national security.

Turkish security forces have detained 1,410 people trying to unlawfully enter Turkey from Syria since Thursday, the military said on Friday.

In a statement posted on its official website, the Turkish General Staff said six other people, who were trying to enter Turkey from Syria, were also held.

The army also said a vehicle, 11 mobile phones, some unspecified number of identity cards, 3,050 US dollars and 95,500 Syrian liras were also seized.

Three people trying to enter Turkey from Greece were also held, the army added.

Turkey began legal proceedings against 164 people who did not fulfill legal requirements to enter Turkey, the statement added.

Security measures have been boosted following terrorist attacks carried out by the PKK and Daesh.

Turkey has also been doing its part to identify and stop potential foreign fighters seeking to cross the border to Syria to join Daesh, despite little cooperation in intelligence sharing with its Western allies.

As part of Turkey's efforts, police have tightened security at transfer points such as airports, terminals, bus stations and rental car companies.

The police have done so by employing a special risk analysis system and a team tasked with tracking suspicious foreigners who travel to Turkey for the first time and minors who have not made hotel reservations.
