It is China that has existed as a unified state (on and off) for the past 2000 years, with a central government and even a working bureaucracy based on Confucian principles.

India on the other hand only came into existence in 1947. Before that it was British India, and before that it was a large number of independent kingdoms.

If Manchus were Chinese who doubled the areas of China, why were they referred as barbarians by father of Chinese nationalism Sun Yat Sen(although land conquered by Manchus was considered as eternal historical Chinese land).
