"Naya Pakistan" led by Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Chief Imran Khan faces multi-dimensional challenges of governance, economy, security and ties with the United States and India.

The first and most pressing challenge is the severe balance of payments crisis. It will force Imran Khan to beg and/or borrow billions of US dollars to shore up the country's reserves. It must deal with the geopolitical challenge of potential US veto of the IMF bailout of Pakistan.

In addition to dealing with the looming bop crisis, the PTI government must address the issue of exports that have halved from 16% of GDP in 2003 to about 8% of GDP in 2017-18. It needs to make concerted efforts to promote exports by making the domestic industry more export-oriented. It must help exporters understand the requirements of foreign markets and use its diplomats to promote Pakistani products and services in international markets.

Pakistan must overcome the civil-military divide and build consensus to develop policies vis-a-vis the United States and India while at the same time maintaining close ties with China. The new leadership needs to use institutional processes such as regular national security council meetings attended by by top civilian, military and intelligence officials.

Azad Labon Ke Sath host Faraz Darvesh discusses these challenges with Misbah Azam and Riaz Haq (www.riazhaq.com)

Get our looted money back from swiss/dubai banks.

Nigerans got $700m from Swiss banks in 10 years. If they can do it, we should too.

I think the Wealth , stashed away is between 10 Billion ~ 190 Billion dollars world wide
I am not quite sure mere 10 million or 100 Million recovery is enough.

National Level
Instead of focusing on External wealth , if internal Taxation / Sales Tax is reformed
we can generate 4-5 Billion Dollars on annual basis

Provincial Level
Provincial Revenue collection from Transport of People Daily can also generate (5-10 Billion Dollar Annually) as Pakistan has large population who travel to work 2 way daily

It is easy to see , the extra revenue stream helps Federally and Provincially
you have more funds to improve (Hospitals or Police)

  • Tax Reform /Sales tax Reform
  • Transport companies in Metro cities who pay Taxes to Government

Can be two internal revenue sources, we should be able to cut IMF ties 100% with such reforms

We need a complete overhaul of Gov institutions, clean out corruption , build more schools and universities with quality teacher, close down all dysfunctional schools, colleges and universities , create job centres , build libraries, create special tax free and free buildings zones, start offshore oil rigs to suck out oil of the region, create a welfare system, pump money into Eidhi as a quasi-independent medical system , nationalise vital organisations and banks, build the rail link between China, create a rail link to Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey, Khazakstan, etc, create another city on the sea side bretween Gwadar and Karachi, create a world leading software creation centre, increase University research funding but only in partnership with industries, eliminate the polarities between ethnicities and minorities etc etc; OH AND DON'T FORGET INCREASE DEFENSE SPENDING, WE NEED THE NEXT GENERATION AIRCRAFT MANUFACTURING.

NayaPakistan facing challenges of PuranaPakistan??

Apart from American establishment, and its minions, the majority of the world is cautiously optimistic about incoming government lead by IK.

Jean Francois Cautain, the ambassador of the European Union to Pakistan, on Monday congratulated Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on his party's recent electoral victory, and assured the PM-in-waiting that the Union is keen to work with his soon-to-be-formed government.

Cautain met Khan at his Banigala residence in the presence of party vice-chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Asad Umar and other party leaders.

"The European Union is deeply interested in working with the PTI government," the ambassador said. "We are ready to collaborate in the fields of security, economy, education and rural development.

"We will assist the newly elected government in securing investments from EU's member countries as we wish to see stability and development in Pakistan. The EU is also ready to help Pakistan escape the grey list of the Financial Action Task Force."

"The EU also does not have any objections to the Pak-Iran gas pipeline project," Cautain added.

PTI chairman, in reciprocation, welcomed the ambassador's felicitations.

With Khan on the cusp of becoming the new PM of the country, Banigala is being frequented by foreign dignitaries and envoys.

British High Commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew, Japanese Ambassador Takashi Kurai and Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost have all had meetings with Khan in recent days.

The highlighted parts are very interesting. Which are basically against the American stated positions.

Long time no see brother?

What about civil-military relations?
This election itself carries the signature of the beginning of the alignment of the Deep Nation with the Deep State in Pak. Similar staffs is taking place in Turkey. Hence, some "usual suspects" are running to and fro like headless chicken!!!

Long time no see brother?
Was out to gather more Hikmet!!!!
