Nawaz to lead city-wide rally in Lahore

LAHORE - The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is planning to hold a massive rally in the city, featuring its chief Nawaz Sharif towards the end of its campaign.
Initially, the party was weighing two options, either to hold a public meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan or leading a rally, presenting Nawaz Sharif in the city.
However, security concerns had halted party strategists from finalising Minar-e-Pakistan as a venue for a meeting. After Punjab government’s decision to ban public meetings at the said venue, the party finally decided go for a public rally in the city with Nawaz Sharif at the forefront.
Party sources said the rally would be held any time after the start of May. But others in the party think the right time would be towards the end of the campaign with Nawaz wrapping it up, briefly touching all constituencies.
Imran Khan has already set the tone of his election campaign by initiating PTI’s campaign with a rally in Lahore, taking a round of the entire city almost.
Nawaz Sharif too, is contesting from the city. His daughter Mariyam Nawaz is mainly looking after his campaign though for now the PML-N chieftain is keeping a low profile in the city, focusing instead on the nation-wide election campaign.

PML-N leadership knows they cannot fill Minar-e-pakistan thats why they r gonna go with the rally option, poor sharif's r scared like hell

Nawaz Shareef is not just feeling the heat, they know their entire empire is just this election away. If they loose, there wouldn't any Zardari or a Friendly Opposition who would cover their corruption and Nawaz could cover theirs. See, even the doll girl of papa is out trying to save her family empire.

One thing which Benazir and Nawaz did was the charter of democracy. One thing which it created that in last 5 years both in Punjab and centre there are no political prisoner. Both parties avoid as much as possible avoid mud slinging on personal matters. However, with the advent of PTI this immature culture of mud slinging is coming back. "Afsoos"

I was just thinking that Nakal kay liye bi aqal ki zaroorat hoti hai. If NS had done this before imran khan then it would have seem like a victory but now everyone will going to think that PML-N is copying PTI campaign methods.

Explain some thing please PMLN is the Punjab government am i right. So how come they wanted to break the law they them self created After Punjab government’s decision to ban public meetings at ''Minar-e-Pakistan as a venue for a meeting..

Only reason they changes their mind was security concerns had halted party strategists from finalising Minar-e-Pakistan as a venue for a meeting.

In fact other parties should be more concerned.

PML N will bring people from all over Punjab to show that Lahore is theirs and will try to beat the PTI rally. People from Lahore are not idiots they won’t be voting PML N again and now that they have an option I am sure they going to choose PTI.
