1 strip of tunnel has over 36 portals (entrances / exits), it is believed china has over several thousand KM worth of underground tunnels.

China's nuclear force is designed to survive the first wave of enemy nuclear attack. Even if the US nukes China, China would still have the capability to retaliate. Latest Chinese ICBMs are mobile and require only minutes to set up, and are with the massive underground tunnel. The US cannot destroy it all in one go.

I guess USA just let China do all the shooting.
IF BIG IF it ever happen, USA would wipe all China satellites and all China radars before taking China down without even have to use Nukes. This event will not happen if Russia not ok with USA, and Russia will not let this event uncover, because Russia know they on the hit list next.
