Nato members are not our friends: Imran

KASUR: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has said that United States (US) and other Nato countries are our foes, not friends, and drone attacks were creating hatred against Nato forces, prompting arson attacks on trucks carrying food and ammunition supplies to Afghanistan.
Talking to reporters after a fundraiser at The Educators campus on Captain Naseem Hayat Road here on Thursday, Khan said the government could have got the drone attacks halted but it was ironical that our rulers were taking dictations from the United States and the government had lost its writ.
He lamented that the rulers were reluctant to obey the orders of the Supreme Court while the government was highlighting the issue of NRO just to avoid facing actual issues.
He said that owing to poor policies of the government, the country was likely to face severe economic crisis in near future.
He said the reluctance of other countries to give direct aid to the government was a slap in the face of our rulers. He said the country could come out of hot waters only if present leadership was changed.
He urged the people to generously donate to the flood-hit people in their rehabilitation. Earlier, teachers and students gave Khan donations for the flood-affected people.
Thousands of people led by Barrister Bakhtyar Kasuri and former nazim Sardar Fakhar advocate welcomed Khan on his arrival here.
