Thanks for the post. Zardari and Kayani started the operation in Swat at the behest of USA after getting $$$. There was the fake flogging video. Now Bilawal has promised aid from USA for operation.

Taliban were given the chance to prove their worth.
But they lied. The government negotiated a deal with them in which they were allowed to set up Shariah courts in certain tribal areas and Malakand.
The Taliban didn't abide by the contract, called reinforcement from Afghanistan, summoned local support and conquered the entire swat division.

Obviously the deep state and the state wasn't happy about a mixed local and foreign force conquering parts of Pakistan and operation Rah-e-Haq was started to get rid of Taliban.
It was a totally justified operation.

I live in Britain.
Even here in Birmingham, not all but many of the Pushtoon diaspora doesn't register their daughters in state schools, which are free.
So yes there's a cultural problem regarding female education, jobs or any rights other than making babies and staying in the kitchen.
