National museum of China is the largest Museum of the world, surpassing the American Museum of New York, British Museum of London, Cairo Museum of Ancient History and Louvre Museum of Paris. It was established in 2003 in the beautiful building of modern architecture. It contains 1.2 million artifacts and relics from the past, in 48 halls and galleries, with most modern facilities. The complex covers an area of 16 acres. The four stories of the building have covered area of 2.2 million square feet. The Museum displays articles some of which are stated to be 1.7 million years old. Entry is free.
