probably to detect sharks and whales or some who might be crossing illegally from greece to turkey....

Detecting /Destroying mines ( there is a long way ahead to give this capability ) ability can be given,but i dont think that project will go longer because there are other AUV /ASV with better maneuvering chracteristics .
Also it can be used for submarine accidents, insurgencies , in case of assymetric warfare.
