I travelled to Naran Kaghan in August, 2019 with my family.
Whole trip was amazing with beautiful scenic mountains and valleys throughout the region in Kaghan. I didn't encounter any issue and everyone was nice and meant their business. The area is very peaceful and you can find plenty of places to stay and eat in Naran.

Naran is a famous tourist spot and is the center of Kaghan region in KPK province of Pakistan.
Naran area is mostly open for tourists from May to September/October and has lots of places to stay and eat. Room charges range from 2500 Rupees to over 20,000 a night.
You will find all types of Pakistan food there with lots of places to eat fish.
Naran town is mostly inhabited by tourist as there is hardly any local population in city area.
Main attraction in the area include hiking, jeep travel to scenic areas including Lake Saiful Malook, Lalazar, Babusar top and river rafting in river Kunhar which runs along the Naran town center.
Jeep trip cost around 2500 rupees to Lake Saiful Malook and Lalazar.
Lalazar was the scariest jeep ride of the whole trip. But top of the mountain is really amazing with beautiful views.
We couldn't do rive rafting due to lack of time but would have loved it.
