RAWALPINDI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), setting aside all claims of government in connection with the immunity of the president, has issued orders to the chief secretary Sindh to freeze the assets of President Asif Ali Zardari in Sindh.

NAB officials, by complying with the orders of the Supreme Court to ensure the implementation of verdict on the NRO, have sent a letter to the chief secretary Sindh in this regard and attached the copy of the SC judgment of November 16, 2009 on NRO.

In the letter the chief secretary has been directed that the assets of Asif Ali Zardari should be frozen in Sindh and more steps be taken in the light of the verdict of the Supreme Court in this regard.

finally some action guys

.
thanks to The National Accountability Bureau and Jurisdiction finally they are taking action

Don't confuse a ray of light with a bright sunny day. NAB is under government control and the people who are charing it hand picked and purposefully placed. They can issue such orders but later set them free making some excuse. That action will bring Pre-NRO situation but this time those asserts could be release under a different way which is not controversial.

Zardari is constantly under fire of his opponents. He was being targeted by bloody monster since he emerged in the horizon of politics. As even powerless Zardari was not tolerable for these entities how a powerful Zardari could be acceptable for them?. No aspect of Zardari's life has been left untouched. He is blamed for all the problems Pakistan is facing today - the atta crisis followed by shortage of sugar as well as the electricity and gas crisis, although it was Mush government that left Pakistan in a great imbroglio.
After the abolishment of the NRO, the anti-Zardari crowd expected a radical change which, according to them, was imminent. They thought that using media and judiciary they would be successful in kicking out Zardari but nothing of the kind happened so far. Zardari has kept his cool and rode the tempest politically unharmed. Where Zardari is inheritor of huge problems, he is also carrying baggage of a battered and shapeless constitution. He has said that the 1973 Constitution would be restored to its original form once the parliament passes the necessary amendments. A multi-party special committee is assigned with this task and would soon be ready to present a constitutional package.
In the meantime, the friendly and unfriendly politicians and public opinion leaders might as well refrain from targeting Zardari. Their attempts to weaken and unseat him would not succeed because there is no other way but impeachment that could send the president home. The impeachment has to originate from the parliament but there is no one with such a heavy mandate to impeach him. Those who were dreaming so are suffering from defeats in by-elections and now fighting for their own survival. Furthermore all attempts to make article 248 controversial proved futile and now his adversaries admit that he is constitutionally protected. Moral side of article 248 does not hold ground as president is bound to act on constitution ands its clauses.

We have been yelling for democracy. It is here now and working fine. No politician or journalist is in prison like old days. True, there is a tiff going on between government and media but Govt never pose any threat to media or tried to sack it like a dictator. This is the real democracy.

I agree that Zardari is the only target people have and no one talks about the corruption of Nawaz Sharif. I strongly believe that media and politicians, above all, common Pakistanis should target all corrupt leaders.

Now, no one is targetting the PM or the GoP so your fear for democracy is not true. Zardari has such a bad reputation that no one wants to see him rule over Pakistan. Members who voted for him have doubts now.

If you support Zardari then I would suggest you write to him and ask him to resign for the sake of Pakistan and for the sake of PPPP. Kindly keep in mind that Zardari will have to leave soon, either through impeachment or through demonstrations, lets not put our country in any more harm and resign peacefully and respectfully.

Gud step NAB, but i am thinking, isn't this step was due from last 1 n half month. What exactly NAB was waiting for those 1 n half months. Also, most of the property own by zardari is not in the name of him, for example Swiss accounts, or Bilawal Transport (one of the 3rd largest Transport service of Dubai), surrey palace, Bilawal house Lahore and so o on..

What i see, if we leave corruption of zardari and other big fished like NZ, or Fazulrehman, and other many politicians and business man, then what will happen on the top the faces will change, but corruption will be there and after some time ppl of pakistan will be crying for those new faces corruption. The only permanent solution i see is;

1. Revamping this corrupt system, where corruption goes un notice (computerizing everything would be one step, auditing everything through independent source is another)
2. Forcefully returning all Pakistani People assets back to Pakistan (not for zardari alone)
3. Implementing Harsh punishment for those who use law to robb poor pakistani nation
