The drone story has many layers not in the public domain. Besides, the captive drone is only one piece of hardware in a larger system, that is turn is only one small component of an immense war machine. It's loss is immaterial in the overall picture, unless you wish to contend otherwise?

Though I do not wish to see another war and the I think of Iran American war would be devastating for all I cant help but think that in recent years the American military hasn't really been tested against a half descent adversary. In the case of Iraq the only chance Saddam had was to attack whilst Americans were getting ready. Perhaps he never really believed he would be attacked.

Iraqi military in 1991 was a joke, they didn't even have proper ammo for their tanks, heck they were using practice rounds and their pilots refused to fly after the first few days of the war., not to mention their whole strategy was a big Failure with a capital F. You are dreaming. The current state of iranian military is a joke. They are disciplined and they believe, but they only have numbers.
to fight a war you need more.
Even Israel alone can demolish the Iranian military in hours.
And you have to separate the two notions in your head. The country is not defeated nor invaded, its military is simply ...dismantled .
