Russian members should throw light on this. Why is Russia not producing top chess players? Is it because of collapse of Soviet chess administration system and the new generation prefers other profession? Or is it because they lack talent and they are using Soviet breakup as an excuse?

Soviets used chess a propaganda and had government subsidies to run chess schools to produce grandmasters. But now times have changed so has Russia's priorities.
