The Bangladesh Navy and government mounted military and diplomatic measures that successfully resulted in the withdrawal of Myanmar Navy vessels from Bangladesh's territory.
The four day stand-off began when Myanmar sent four South Korean energy exploration vessels escorted by two of their naval vessels to extract gas from one of Bangladesh's southern gas sea blocks.
As a result the Bangladesh Navy deployed as many as five warships to the area to protect Bangladesh's sovereignty.
On Wednesday Bangladesh sent a high powered diplomatic delegation to Myanmar comprising of the Foreign Secretary and two Navy Commodores to caution Myanmar against breaching Bangladesh's territorities.
The Bangladesh Foreign Ministry also contacted the Chinese and South Korean Foreign Ministries regarding the matter to inform them about the matter.
The South Korean company has withdrawn its exploration vessels according to the Bangladesh Navy officials.
