A high-power delegation led by the Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Army will visit India in the first week of July to fine-tune strategy to tackle the situation arising out of the presence of Indian Insurgents in Myanmar.
Disclosing that the breakthrough was achieved after the visit of national security adviser Ajit Doval, authoritative security sources told this newspaper Myanmar has fully understood India’s concerns and has assured it will address them effectively.
The visit of the Myanmar Army Chief is aimed at finalizing the modalities of operations to flush out Northeast insurgent groups from its territory, security sources in the home ministry said.
Informing that there has been no decision on carrying out joint operations in Myanmar, security sources, however, clarified that Myanmar is determined to drive out Indian Insurgent groups operating from its territory.
Pointing out that Myanmar has also admitted it has insurgency problems in its interior, security sources said Myanmar has also started increasing Army presence along the international border with India.
About the activities of insurgent groups after the cross-border surgical strike by the Indian Army, security sources said it has created panic among the insurgent groups, which are reported to have been shifting their cadre and arsenal to safer locations.
