It's not a delta wing so canards are useless,

the JF-17 needs bigger wings built up higher on the fueselage so it doesn't overlap on the intakes, like the f-18.

Looks reasonable. The LERX are in essence still present, but are further enhanced through the canards. The canards should help in sustained turning maneuvers where the Thunder is currently limited by available power.

Not Canards but these are Leading Edge Vortex Controller (LEVCON) systems are a continuation of leading–edge root extension (LERX) technology, but with actuation that allows the leading edge vortices to be modified without adjusting the aircraft's attitude. Otherwise they operate on the same principals as the LERX system to create lift augmenting leading edge vortices during high angle of attack flight.

This system has been incorporated in the Russian Sukhoi Su-57 and Indian HAL Tejas

For that u should go for Medium Multi role fighters.

Depends on how much time China is willing to invest on the project. If Pakistan does desire to have a better R&D environment than it currently has, it may be better to pool and enhance its resources for a future project. A heavier fighter is always accessible in the form of J-10 series.

The current design is an excellent design---just 25% larger would have been perfect---.

MAoG capability incld Levcons were found unsuitable for preliminary designs of FC1 with a view to reconsider these under full authority FBW.
