Most of the north India is Shia
I don't know where you get this weird ideas from. There are more or at most equal number of shias in Pakistan than in India. And some dynasties like the Nizam of Hyderabad were shias who ruled in Southern India. However, it would be accurate to say a large number (some say upto 50%) of shias are migrants while the majority of sunnis (who comprise the overwhelming majority of Indian Muslims-upto 80-85%) are local converts.
