it was premeditated and not an accident. it maybe a hate crime or jsut a random one but the outcome is same.

Exactly its a crime and he should be punished to the full extent of the law. I would be saying the same if he had done it to any other kid for any reason as this is just extremely wrong and this is where death punishments come in handy.

One cannot be a defector if one is allowed to leave -- LEGALLY. This mean there is no difference between a defector and an immigrant other than the legal status of the departure. It also means that as far as the defector and the immigrant is concerned, the opinion of the origin state is IRRELEVANT. For the immigrant, so what if he is allowed to return ? He left because he felt the country of his birth no longer serves him well enough. So why should he care what that government thinks of him ?

If any government does not allow legal immigration at any time by anyone, that mean anyone who want to leave, or even thinking of leaving, is a defector. That government does not deserve loyalty and allegiance.

But if we go by YOUR line of thinking, at least the defector have a good cause for leaving -- political persecution. Whereas the immigrant have none, and that make the immigrant the more shameful one.

Secondly, we all know that the law will take its course and punish the perpetrator of crime. Thankfully like in some countries no one would jump to laws like blasphemy laws to avoid getting punished by simply blaming the one killed for insulting certain prophets or gods.

One more thing I fail to understand - if this guy was threatening the Somali group for long time why did they not report the matter to police. A simple 911 call at that time would have prevented things taking such an ugly turn..

Oh yeah a long time back a bunch of posters told me he was a pilot for the Viets who defected during the middle of the war, anyway there must be no word for ghairat in Vietnamese.
