Musharraf Ki Yaad AAyi Us Kay Janay Kay Baad

One small question. Does legitimacy and legality not matter? Is democracy only good enough when it meets OUR goals? Musharraf came through acts that are defined as 'High Treason' in our constitution. And yes, I know I sound like an 'unrealistic intellectual idealist' or whatever. But, I believe that lawbreakers should be treated as such. To me, he is just as good as any petty criminal. Sure you could argue that the criminal had a just cause like feeding his family or something but he is a criminal nonetheless.

I am with you if your arguement becomes generic instead of Musharraf centric. In case of Gen. Musharraf, SCoP, Politicians etc all supported him when he become the President so the question should be presented to the entire lot of people who run our country.

Under our constitution Article 6 (i) is for those who mend constitution by force and article 6 (ii) is for people who support these people, this means that IK, Qazi, NS, Ch. Shujaat, MQM, current PM, and BB (for accepting NRO) are all traitors.

Furthermore, I could never agree with someone supporting a power usurper who would bend the very fabric of governance to extend his own rule

No worries, plenty of supporters are available to support Gen. Musharraf.

^^
Hi SSGPA1, are you not missing the most importan personality from your list!
Iftikhar Ch., didn't he legalise every thing by accepting his new position and continue working until he got sacked for corruption!

BTW... can any one tell me what is the justification of criminals holding offices while their immunity has been expired as NRO got void in January last year?

As far as I can remember, when he came into power, he had to make his own 'King's Party' of the pml-q lot. So the argument that everyone supported him is not incorrect. Secondly, when you are against an army general, and as we have seen in the past, it is their way or the highway, which is the main reason "everyone supported him". To think that he was indeed very popular is naive.

The NRO was the only way they could have entered the country. Later, even though the parliament could have ratified it, it did not. That shows the level of support for it. To me, the NRO was the only way they could enter politics. I am not saying it was ok, but to defeat a traitor, you need to play by his rules, at least for a while till he calls the shots.

Ya well, based on that argument even Hitler had plenty of supporters. That is why he came into power. But that does not mean that he was right.

He did and it was absolutely wrong. But in this case, 'der ayay durust ayay' (better late than never).

What was the justification of a 'sacked' general (yes he was sacked by his commander and chief - NS) taking over the entire government for some 8 odd years, and then issuing the said NRO which was against all constitutional norms whether in pakistan or abroad?

NONE.

Because he did not deliver on anything he promised. He left democracy in tatters, his 'sakht aur fori ehtasaab' (hard and swift accountability) never came to pass, he embroiled us in a foreign war, made us a consumer society (something inherently bad for a developing economy), gave us the power crisis, banned tv channels and the list goes on and on and on.

Oh bhai, what do you mean? I can come up with a dozen accusations against your beloved CJP.

Who is trying to politicise the office of CJP? who was responsible for destablising Pakistan while the economy was on the upsurge? had this ridiculous power hungry individual resigned we would have been better off financially today. His political affiliations and ambitions are obvious, evident and visible. The office is CJP is not blinded by law but is influenced by political affiliations.

To this day he has not proved his innocence in court of law with regards to the cases brought against him. Is he above law? or is he hiding?

haha ... Pls have 6 almonds every morning ... IK and Qazi both supported Gen. Musharraf in the NA and it is a fact so lets hang both of these traitors under 6 (ii), besides both have no vote bank.

buhat hee aala! In this case all of those politicians who seek support from the ISI and Generals should also be pardoned as they are not playing politics!! BB cut a deal with Gen. Musharraf to get rid of cases against her, period!

Keep looking for the right one, the most honest one and the most .....

We will keep supporting the one who says PAKISTAN FIRST!!!!!!!

'The giver and taker of bribe will both go to hell.' In this case your mr. amazingly awesome godly man was the one who SIGNED the NRO. lol.. very amusing how you routinely look at only one side and paint the other as an angel.

Will do boss.. in the meantime you can support dictators all because they 'said' Pakistan First (should i give you a standing ovation for having such stringent reasons for choosing leaders? you are no better than a jiyala). But always remember, never dissent against him, for if you do, you will be thrown in prison no-questions-asked, army style baby!

Typical.

Yes I am also looking at him who says Pakistan first but lives in the U.S.

Yes.
Hang those corrupt politicians, generals including Musharaf and ISI personnel.
I am with you on this.

Now there is no way back for you SSGPA!
You said that the traitors and people who helped him should have the same fate.
I am with you!
Now you should not support Musharaf because it will be a contradiction on your side.

You can't counter your own statement.
Can you?

I am with you, provided, we start with first dictator and include civilian dictator. I have said that earlier that the laws shouldn't be Gen. Musharraf specific.

FYI - ZA Bhutto was the first and probably the last civilian Chief Marshal Law Administrator.

They matter because they were part of the Parliament at that time (the one which gave Gen. Musharraf's rule a stamp of approval).

Well the zanis will also go to hell so IK and NS will join any rashi ... lol
The CJP will also join them for getting his son appointed to the msot corrupt FIA ... is hamam may sub nangay hain.

This criteria is best because it throws out all closet Talibans and their supporters like IK, NS and yourself :)

Now you can sit down.

Hang all those people man!

So, now what should we do?

How can we achieve our goals?

Start a civil movement against Musharaf and all those..
