Even if they did, wy would they let it out? They wouldn't want it to be a rallying point for the extremists or make hm a martyr right? I have always belived that while it was possible for the US to get osama a long time ago, they're deliberately avoiding taking him to prevent him looking like a martyr. Same can be said about mullah omar I guess.

News 1 in Pakistan is reporting that Mullah Omar has been captured.

Its what American bloggers are claiming......no confirmed news....you cant trust the blogs even Washington times unless the Govt official confirms it.

If this is true, then there goes the theory that he is residing in Karachi. Lets see what happens, if he is caught, then that would indicate a major move forward.

Crappy blogs are reporting that he was captured in late March and has capture wasn't made public so as to avoid Taliban backlash somehow.

But these are crappy blogs.

Mullah Omar got arrested from Karachi, Pakistan by Pakistani special forces (ISI) on 27th March. Mullah Omar is now transferred to special and secret ISI prison and still not handed over to America. This information is confirmed by high profiled Pakistani army officer and given to USA defence department (Said by ex-military special forces officer of America).

He said, Mullah Omar is in custody of Pakistan and they’re afraid of Taliban reaction, after its arrest news. As Pakistan is already suffering from war against Taliban and Al-Qaeda, arrest of their leader from Pakistan and by Pakistani special forces can cost them with more suicide bomb attacks.



Mullah Omar, took control of Afghanistan by his group name “Taliban” back in 1996. After nine eleven and attack of America on Afghanistan, Mullah Omar started his campaign against U.S soldiers and allies. Further, he got disappeared after Americans, taking control of Afghanistan. Mullah Omar considered as second most wanted person by America after Osama bin Laden.

American minister of Defence still not confirmed or cancelled this news and also Pakistani officials or Special forces spokes men, not want to talk or confirm it.

I still cant picture this happening. Some news articles are stating that he was captured back in February. If so, then how come Taliban didn't realize this in 5 months? Hello its July?

I hope there should have a better purpose behind this move, to bring peace in

Afghanistan and Pakistan. It may be a signal to the movement and a

compelling tactic to bring them to negotiating table, to reach a settlement with USA.

Mullah Omar nabbed, claims US blogger

WASHINGTON – Sami Ibraham: A US blogger claims that Afghan-based Taliban Ameer Mollah Omar has been apprehended.

He wrote in his blog Mullah Omar was arrested on March 27 in Karachi.

A blogger, Bred, revealed apprehension of Taliban Ameer Mullah Omar in his blog on Monday.

Bred has served in Homeland Security Department and has maintained close relations with US army.

Neither US Defense Department nor Pakistani officials have confirmed Mullah Omar’s arrest.
