Sorry, I should have classified the elite specifically.
Do not take my messages as an attack against all Lahoris, it's a huge area with diverse political and social attitudes and I've met many good people.
But I've also observed a mentality amongst the elite and upper class to be similar to a pajeet complex, where they have some insecurities that they satisfy by imitating liberal white culture which makes them feel more "modern" and "progressive" - they think they are more respectable and I see it as rooted in insecurity.
Indeed, these Anglophile posers and liberal wannabes can be cringe-worthy, but this trend isn't exclusive to Lahore alone. It's more of a phenomenon prevalent in all large urban centers of Pakistan like Islamabad, Karachi, and others, often observed among the newly affluent.
