It looks like the MS Dhoni-fever has overtaken the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as well. The legendary Indian wicketkeeper-batsman is closing in on making a much-anticipated return to competitive cricket in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). While the IPL fans just can't wait to revel in Dhoni's return, similar waves have been created across the border as a fan of the Islamabad United was seen donning a Pakistani national jersey with MSD's credentials in a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match.

Similar to the biggest domestic extravaganza that takes place in India, the PSL is also a 20-over tournament which serves local Pakistani players a platform to compete with overseas household names under one roof. The fifth edition of the PSL is already underway and it is the first time when the entire tournament will be played on Pakistani soil. On the 22nd matchday of the PSL, an Islamabad United grabbed attention with his customised Pakistani national team jersey.

The PSL fan is believed to have arrived at the match venue wearing the Pakistani cricket team jersey having Dhoni's name and number on the back. The Green Army jersey with Dhoni's name and number soon grabbed everyone's attention on social media. "Bhai in Stadium! Stadium was overcrowded. Full support for @IsbUnited Missing @Msdhoni @PSL," the Dhoni fan tweeted.

The same Pakistani fan had earlier made headlines with his custom jersey ahead of the 2019 ICC World Cup. Shehzad-Ul-Hassan, who goes by the username @shehzad441 on Twitter had assembled a custom made Pakistani jersey with Dhoni's name and jersey engraved on the back of it.

For the Indian fans, the wait to see Thala taking the field with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will end on March 29. Dhoni will lead CSK in the 13th season of the IPL and the season opener between the Chennai heavyweights and defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium will be his first competitive game after the 2019 World Cup.

Well this is how gullible and absurdly ridiculous some Pakistanis can be.

Sports should be treated as sports no politics needed in this matter. Wearing their name isn't anti national or anti Pakistan. It's politics that's ruining this and many other sports.
Indian and Pakistani should play in both countries without any interference. Wouldn't hurt if Dhoni and virat play in Psl and it wouldn't hurt if amir babar play in Ipl.

People seem to forget Dhoni wore gloves with army insignia in support of Indian army after pulwama.

Amazing.... MS Dhoni is one of the most professional players and best captains in the history of cricket. Huge respect for him.

So, we can call any derogatory term for pakistani's ??? Dont throw it, if you cant take it.
I'll take it any day, and wear it like a badge of honour. 8-)

don't see a problem with gangu :undecided:

One would have been lynched to death and called an #antinational, #gaddar, #sickular, #foreign lobby, #lutian and what not had he donned the name of Afridi during a IPL match! Speaks words about the culture of tolerance in our motherland vis a vis Gangudesh!

we, the fewer in numbers
much greater in character
please don't even compare
