China and Bhutan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on a Three-Step Roadmap to help speed up boundary talks that have been heavily delayed, during a virtual meeting held on Thursday. The MoU is of historic significance and is the result of years of joint efforts and sincere cooperation between the two sides, analysts said, noting that it points out the direction for breaking the current deadlock and laying a foundation for the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bhutan.

I don't know why China talks to Bhutan. Don't they know Bhutan's foreign policy is managed by India?

Bhutan has no diplomatic relationship with any of the permanent members of UN security council, probably to the credit of India.

Thats the fucking point of the news.

Bhutan didnt ask for India to occupy and blackmail it. Bhutanese officials moving forward despite the Indian threat and bullying tactics, is a sign that India is weak, mounting resilence in Bhutan against Indian bullying and India losing grip over Bhutans policies.

And why would China not talk to Bhutan? Nobody here is drinking that American Kool Aid and acknowledges the Indian hyperpower propaganda. India is but a nuisance.

It looks like China has very aggressive designs against India. It will be a message for both India and USA.

The video talks about China's intention to take over Arunachal Pradesh.

You mean Bhutan is a colony of India?
China opposes all colonialism and supports the liberation cause of all ethnic groups in South Asia. We respect the sovereignty of the Bhutanese people and support their legitimate rights.

Bhutanese greatest fear is that India will invade Bhutan like they did to Sikkim. That's why Bhutanese have been very careful not to offend India or give them an excuse to invade. It will be a cake walk by India as geography favors India. Due to geopolitics with China, United States will probably turn a blind eye and may even support India.

Is China in a position to support and defend Bhutan ?

Next to Bhutan is Yadong county. The HSR-station in Yadong county is less than 20 km away from the Bhutan border. The HSR can transport a synthetic brigade to Yadong County in 3.5 hours.

Once India occupy Bhutan, it may be already too late. There has to be a better way to cut off Indian supply. But that would involve actually invading India and this could escalate into a full blown war with India.

Geography and India sheer size versus Bhutan favors India.
China do not have any good option.

If India ever wanted to take Bhutan we could do that without breaking a sweat. India took over Sikkim simply because the public opinion to join the Union was in our favor and the ruling chogyal dynasty was extremely unpopular resulting in riots on street.

Bhutan is a constitutional monarchy and there is absolutely no fear of India. Don't get excited over crappy Chinese propaganda papers.
