More oil and gas reserves discovered in Kirk

KIRK: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) discovered more reserves of oil and gas in an area of Kirk, Geo News reported Friday.

This discovery was made possible during the upgradation work there.

OGDC finds 4200 barrel oil, 17 mmcfd gas with Nashpa well​

KARAK: Oil & Gas Development Company (OGDC) has discovered oil and natural gas with its Nashpa No. 1 exploratory well, drilled in Karak district in NWFP.

The well flowed 4,200-barrel oil and 17 mmcfd of natural gas per day.

OGDC officials told Geo News that the discovery was made upgradation of the Nashpa Well-1 in Karak.

Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and Government Holding Petroleum Limited are jointly working on this discovery.

Earlier, 3000 barrels of oil and 9.7 mmcfd gas had been discovered from the same place on August 31. 2009.

Our land is blessed with so many resources, but it always comes down to our Governments and their incompetence in making sure that these resources are discovered and used for the betterment of our nation.

Unfortunately, we're known for selling these off to our foreign masters so that they can fully benefit from our resources. Take the Baluchistan's gold reserves for an example. We've been selling them off to foreign agencies for dirt cheap prices. If only we realize that spending funds on projects which are meant to discover our natural resources such as Gold, Natural Gas, Oil and Coal, only then we'll be able to establish long term prosperity for our undeveloped regions.

You are absolutely right, those who spend billions on project would not mind paying off millions to the corrupt politicians.
As per available statistics rikodiq is perhaps the second biggest copper/gold reserves in the world, having very rich content of gold.
I can gaurante you that no foreign company will tell truth about how much gold exactly they are separating.
If we have to control it than we need to force the investing company to setup seperation plant and produce gold and copper pallets in Pakistan and than share the profit.
All foreign investment companies cleverly skip to build final process in the mining country and take the sludge to third country.
Problem with the sludge is that it will be impossible to determine how much gold and copper is in it.
