Pakistan's problem is not a conventional external terrorist organisation, its problem is radicalism within the society and it's growing everyday. It can't be stopped as long as you find real solutions. "Beating around the bush" attitude is not going to help. Sunnis are relatively safe from it, it's the minorities who are targeted because of their religion. Even the Pakistani patriot members say this. So you can't blame these people for fleeing. Doctors and other high-skilled people are always welcomed in Sri Lanka by the way.

No. However, 2 wrongs don't make a right. What's happening somewhere else in the world doesn't minimize the suffering of these people. Hell, most of them probably don't even know enough about the world to know there's something going on somewhere else in the world. All they know is that they're dying and nobody's doing anything about it. You don't just get on rickety boats and go sailing into the ocean on a whim.

Well, they are not entirely angels either. If you listen to the Burmese side of the story, you would know. Quite sure if they remained as responsible citizens, this wouldn't happen today. There's a Chinese community in Burma who are quite successful too. And the days of colonialism messed up the demographics in the region. For instance, there was a large community of Hindu Nepalis in Buddhist Bhutan but after the collapse of the British empire, they were expelled from Bhutan in the same way.
