I agree to all of the above but the fact is who will do that? pti, ppp, n league they all wants military's help and nobody is willing to work for themselves.

Pti will be given a minor lead or not even that in punjab. possibly they will need to form alliances to make government and than establishment will do after a few years what they did the last time

Yes, most likely that could be the case.

But compare the situation pre and post April 2022. After the establishment has been stripped bone naked, do you think they can do anything and everything with no blowback? They will think twice.

The equilibrium in the relationship between establishment and other organs of the state needs to be found, and this is the process to do just that.

IK or no IK, the bigger picture is, for the first time in Pakistan’s history, establishment stands naked and there is a slight opening.

The establishment in reality needs to be involved in the political scene unfortunately. However what they should do is ensure red lines are not crossed such as wanton corruption, killer, robber politicians on the loose, judges and others not upholding the law.

They should never favour any party and stay completely neutral from party politics. Support free and fair elections let the awaam choose their leaders not so the choosing like they know better because history shows they dont know any better.
