Mohamed bin Zayed receives Chief of US Joint Staff

His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces, discussed today with General Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, ways of strengthening bilateral ties between the U.A.E. and U.S.

Sheikh Mohamed and the visiting U.S. commander reviewed a broad range of topics dealing with enhancement of joint military and defence cooperation and coordination as well as exchange of expertise and training. Also raised in the meeting were a variety of issues of mutual concern.

Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority (EAA), Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the U.A.E. Armed Forces, Yousef Al Otaiba, U.A.E. Ambassador to the U.S., and Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouie, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, attended the meeting.

Attending the meeting from the U.S. side were Andrew W. Steinfeld, Foreign Policy Advisor to the Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, Michael Corbin, U.S. Ambassador to the U.A.E., and a number of advisors to General Dempsey.

U.A.E. chief of staff, U.S. counterpart discuss cooperation

Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of U.A.E. Armed Forces, today received General Martin Dempsey, U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and members of the delegation accompanying him on a current visit to U.A.E.

During the meeting, Al Rumaithi and Dempsey the aspects of cooperation between U.A.E. Armed Forces and U.S. Army and the mechanisms for boosting and promoting bilateral relations between the two sides.

U.S. Ambassador to U.A.E, Michael Corbin, and a number of U.A.E. Armed Forces high-ranking officers attended the meeting.
