Don't buy everything that is said. It only reflects a pre existing bias of the persons concerned. While Nehru & Patel did have differences & serious ones at that, it is still difficult to believe that either would have been petty. Nehru did come to the airport to see Patel off on what would become his last journey to Mumbai and attended his funeral when he died. You are right. That is why its important/better for India to solve it as soon as possible.
You are wrong on saying that Sir Creek if given to India would mean India keeps getting Pakistani territory. Now, territories are defined by GPS coordinates of the existing frontier. So (assume) if India gets Sir Creek, then the India will get the area of Sir Creek till a particular coordinate. If Sir Creek keeps moving towards Pakistan, the borders will not change, only the landscape of the border will change. It will still remain at that Coordinate.
This has been one of the issues we have encountered on the Bangladesh border. Since in most places the border was defined as the middle of a river, and the rivers in that region are very very volatile, they keep changing course every year! So there was constant bad blood between India and BD over it, since every year some side lost land to the other. This is the mechanism that has been evolved now with BD. The process is going on to demarcate it nowadays.
