Karachi, 09 June, (Asiantribune.com):
At least 26 people killed and over 20 injured when heavily armed terrorists attacked airport in Karachi on Sunday night. Ten militants were killed in the ensuing joint operation.
The credible official sources revealed that the terrorists were carrying Indian-made weapons including automatic weapons, hand grenades, suicide jackets and rocket launchers penetrated the old terminal opening fire and hurling grenades on Airport Security Force (ASF) personnel, making their way onto the tarmac. Multiple blasts were reported during the terrorist attack. It proves that it was RAW Sponsored Fazlullah Group who launched attacked on Karachi Airport and very much part of Indian proxy war against Pakistan.
During this operation seven ASF personnel along with one each from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Civilian Aviation Authority (CAA) and one Ranger scarified their lives. A policeman has also martyred when he tried to apprehend a suicide bomber.
In this regards, DG ISPR Major General Asim Bajwa said the terrorists were confined to two areas and eliminated. Weapons, live ammo including RPGs and rockets were recovered. The military spokesman added a precautionary sweep would take place after day light and the airport will be cleared by midday for operations. He further confirmed that no aircraft was damaged adding that the fire visible was in a building, which was extinguished. President, Prime Minister, PPP Chief Bilawal Bhutto, Former President Zardari, PTI head Imran Khan condemned the attack .
Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif paid accolades to the martyrs who laid down their lives fighting terrorists in a brazen late-night attack and determined to take stern actions against militants.
On same night, at least 20 Shia pilgrims returning from Iran were killed when suicide bombers entered the hotels in Taftan in the western province of Baluchistan, near Pakistan's border with Iran. Moreover, in the day time It is also mentionable here that in the evening Indian authorities stopped special train at Attari Railway Station which left Pakistan to bring Sikh pilgrims to Lahore .
They did not allow the Yatrees to travel in the special train that returned without any passengers. 300 Sikh pilgrims reached Wahga border by road and left for Nankana Sahib to perform their religious rites. The Yatrees would arrive in Lahore on June 16 to attend function to be held in connection with martyrdom day of their fifth Guru and will leave for India on June 17.
In fact, the attack on Karachi airport is similar to the raid of Mehran Base. In both cases the well trained terrorists armed with Indian made guns had launched coordinated attack and hit aircrafts. The public demanding that government instead singing song of negotiations starts serious action against terrorists. Moreover, targeting Shia pilgrims, stopping Pakistani train at Attari Railway Station and raiding Karachi Airport are interconnected and sponsored by India. The motives behind these actions were to depict Pakistan as insecure country. Thus, International community should press extremists’ Modi government to stop sponsoring terrorism in neighboring countries since global peace would be at stake, if proxy war converts into traditional war.
