Modernization plan of the Egyptian Navy

The Egyptian navy was by far the weakest branch of the Egyptian Army.
The emergence of new threats in the Mediterranean and Red seas such as the rival Turkey, Houthi revels and unrest in Libya forced Egypt to spend billions of dollars for the replacement and development of all its combat platforms and armament systems, the Egyptian naval forces received/contracted a number of ships as follows:
2 x Mistral-class amphibious assault ships
4 x Type 209/1400mod-class submarines
1x FREMM Aquitaine frigate
2 x FREMM Bergamini frigates
4 x Meko A-200 frigates
4 x Gowind-class corvettes
9 x TNC 35 patrol boats
1 x Pohang-class corvette
1 x P-32 Molniya-class missile craft 2 x Fort Rosalie-class replenishment ships
