"Ceramic Cores for Kaveri Engine Aerofoil
Castings: Through sustained research and
development efforts at DMRL, a viable
process based on Ceramic Injection Moulding
has been developed. The capability of the
shaping process is demonstrated by making
highly complex and intricate ceramic cores
required for making the five critical Kaveri
gas turbine engine blades and vanes. These
cores meet the stringent dimensional and
other quality requirements needed for their
use in the investment casting components.
Currently, this process is being extended to
produce cores for land based turbine blades,
a spin-off benefit for civilian applications."

"High Pressure Turbine (HPT) Blade for
Adour Engine: Vacuum investment casting
technology has been established for
production of intricate, hollow castings,
meeting the stringent requirements of Kaveri
engine. This indigenous technology has
successfully been extended to produce
directionally solidified hollow HPT blades
for Adour engine, in association with HAL.
Efforts are on to produce ceramic cores, the
only component procured from a foreign
source, also in-house. This technology will
soon be transferred to HAL, Koraput for
commercial production."

- I thought India is struggling with outdated materials ( SC blades will not be the most used blades for future; every one is heading towards Ceramic Composite matrix ) But after reading it ; India is very much inline with others. :victory:

To be honest, India is doing what it can. India is a developing nation (to put it mildly) with some serious hurdles to overcome. We do have the potential to become a major power but it will take at least a decade of consistent effort for India to really be 'in line' with the 'others' assuming of course that you're talking about the major powers.

While most desis are optimistic about the future, I am certainly not one of those people. IMO, the sluggish pace of development and religious conservatism will hold India back. We'll be playing catch up for a long, long, long time. As will everyone else in South Asia.

Lets hope for the best. Maybe some day we really will be 'in line'. Sorry if I sound cynical but its how I see it.

By sitting in the american Mcdonald having burger and cold drink giving your Thoughts on Laptop that India is so backward and take dacade to be just in LINE is vary easy dude:what:

By current rate india will pass russian economy in 2018 and became 8Th biggest economy in the world........

You don't see the effort to the all engg. and scient. have made... when we started our LCA then we dont have even and design banch mark of any supersonic plane...or any Budget for that.::undecided:

But now see what happen We operation the 4++ generation fighter Tejas best suited for IAF.. and any further development of any fighter will not take another 20 to 25 Years........:smitten:

Yes india is lacking so many ability now... but form now onward its just matter of time(Near time) when india master that ability.....
because now we have Great talant and Money for that....:smitten:

Can you elaborate more on the highlighted part please?

May be you don't have sufficient knowledge to predict the future of India. No offence bro. whatever you think people at IMO had thought that 1000 times before.

Don't get me wrong dude, I do think things in India will get better eventually, but I don't think we'll be able to match any of the world's major powers, like the US, EU and China anytime in the near future just because of how far behind we are now. I do believe that it is a matter of time, but I think we disagree on how long. I don't think India will be a 'superpower' anytime within the next 3-4 decades. Poverty, social inequalities, illiteracy, these a just a few of the major, major challenges we face.

when i was growing up in the early 90's. And asked me parents when India would be a developed Nation. They said 100 no 200 years.

But role the clock into the new millennium. and the development of my home town Visakhapatnam(navy represent). in the first 4 years super ceded the develop i noticed during the whole 90's.

Now Living abroad today, every year i go back i must brace my self for the changes.

In a period of one year Wipro, Satyam and HSBC set up shop with brand new buildings. There are even Plans a foot for an underground electric grid.

The power cuts have gotten remarkably shorter.

and finally after years of viewing Indian MP's as nothing more than Cash hungry and corrupt .

People like Shashi Throor , Rahul Ghandi , Monmohan Singh and many others are being shown to be people who care, and people you can trust.

Why share with you this story is because while you complain about the slow pace and all of India's problems. You fail to realize all the progress that been made in very short amount of time compared to anything that could have happened just a Few decades. despite every thing you just mentioned, The Growth of the last few years has happened despite all this.

and i cant find a reason as to why that trend will go anywhere but up.
