Its the IAF who made their pilots fly 40 year old planes. Its time they start taking reponsibility for their actions rather than push the blame on others like kinder garden kids.

Its the successive IAF chiefs who sucked up and agreed to the politicians and bureaucrats to build their career and refused to stand up for their men. So spare me the moral outrage.

Its funny to read articles from self assumed professionals taking jibes at real professionals. That IAF is a professional organization, nobody has any doubts. MMRCA participants, all of them, were on par with each other and it had to take elaborate evaluation to select the contender best suited to IAF requirements.

Saying that IAF are professionals whitewashed the organizational biases that exist.
For example - it is almost undeniable that the Indian Army prefers to buy from abroad rather than Indian equipment because of kickbacks and a well oiled set up.

The IAF is less so and Navy is least foreign obsessed.

It is also the reason that the Indian Navy has had the maximum amount of success in reducing weapons imports. Because the Navy takes a lot of effort to sit down with the Yards, is the one who has its own warship design center and seconds its personnel to research teams so that they are better able to produce what is needed. It is why an overwhelming majority of our ships are being made domestically, while IAF still has to import everything from a trainer to a jet.

Or why IA refuses to buy Indian.

Based on the reports of 9 Billion $ being gifted to France for 50% "ToT" and comparing that to 1 billion as the total cost for LCA development.

The ToT was supposed to be FREE as an incentive for buying the Rafale.

Not to mention the additional cost HAL will bear for modernising its production capabilities all paid for in full by the people of India.
