What's new

MM Alam's third death anniversary today

Notice the 11 Indian flags on his F86 saber. Those were his confirmed kills.

Thats like almost half of enemy squadron strength blown away by him alone. :coffee:

Can you provide us the link of this official history where these names are mentioned ?

Those aircrafts also include Mystere, they weren't all Hunters.

I have read the account of John Fricker in Battle for Pakistan and also of Kaiser Tufail (Aviation Historian of Pak) in Defense journal. While Ficker account gave different names of Pilots, Kaisar Tufail credited him only three kills on 7 sep (against the 5 claim in 5 minutes) and only 5 in total,in the entire course of war.

Nowhere it mentioned that M M Alam downed 5 jets in five mins on 7 sep.

Here is my first source by Tufail.

P.S - It should be mentioned that S/L Alam's story was first narrated to Fricker during 1967, and Fricker bought out an article on this 'Ace in a Day' in the Air Enthusiast magazine. The initial article did not have the names of the Indian pilots claimed shot down by S/L Alam.

Later, Fricker gave the names of five Indian pilots provided by the Pakistani sources that he claimed were victims of S/L Alam. The names given were S/L Kacker, S/L Devayya, S/L Bhagwat, F/L Guha and F/O Brar.
