Missing persons case: SC declares secret detention by army men illegal

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday declared the secret detention of 35 people by army personnel illegal, Express News reported.

A three-member bench – headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry – announced its final verdict of the case today.

While announcing the detailed judgement, the bench said that statements by the relatives of the missing persons and jail superintendent proved that army was involved in the illegal transfer of these people from a jail Malakand and subsequent detention at an unidentified location.

Ordering inquiry against those involved in the illegal detention, the court directed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak and the provincial governor to recover the missing persons within seven days and present them before the court.

Expressing anger over how the government responded to this issue, the apex court said the defence ministry initially denied that the military was involved in the case but admitted to it later.

The judges also called for proper legislation in this regard.

SC is becoming a part of anti pakistan forces

Why there is no notice or case on people being killed by BLA ? why there is no case on people being taken of the bus and killed if they are from Punjab?

This is whole drama against the army which is fighting the difficult war on front and at home too ...

These people have taken a role against Pakistan forces and should not be handled by normal SC , they should be handled by Army courts only ....

Anyone who speaks against Pak Army is anti-Pakistani ?

Lets see what people has to say about war crimes by Pak Army.
