PARACHINAR: Four missiles were fired from Afghanistan towards Pakistan’s Kurram Agency on Sunday, Samaa reported.

No casualties were reported in the missile attack.

Political administration has confirmed that one of the four missiles hit a shop in Shankak area of Kurram Agency whereas the second landed near a mosque.

The shop was completely destroyed in the missile attack.

The other two missiles landed in a graveyard located in Kharpalan area of near Kachkeena.

At least 24 people have been killed and 90 others have been injured in a bomb blast in the Shia-dominant city of Parachinar.

Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA), a faction of the umbrella Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, or Pakistani Taliban, swiftly claimed the attack in a message sent to AFP.

The attack comes after a wave of militant violence killed 130 people across Pakistan in February, unnerving citizens who had been emboldened by improving security and prompting a military crackdown.

The government of Pakistan had closed the Pak-Afghan border at Torkham and Chaman following a wave of terror attacks in the country

No need to return the favor to the western side of the border but missiles should be gifted to freedom fighters in Kashmir that would be a much bigger help.
Cruise missile to Mujaheddin?? Do you really want to see Nirbhay thing getting operational??

Four missiles fired from Afghan border into Kurram Agency

At least four missiles were fired into Kurram Agency area from across the Afghan border on Sunday, political administration said.

Two rockets, each fell into the Shangak and Kharplan areas, destroyed a shop completely. There were, however, no loss of life in the incident, officials said in a statement.

Last month, a suspected missile-firing US drone killed two Afghan Taliban militants in a village near the Afghan border. The missile struck the two men while they were riding a motorcycle in northwestern Kurram.
On February 19, fighter jets of the Pakistan Air Force bombed a number of terrorists who were trying to regroup in the North Waziristan Agency.

Pakistan’s military launched Operation Zarb-e-Azb in June 2014 to purge all terrorists from the North Waziristan Agency. The operation led to an overall improvement in the country’s security as terrorists attacks dropped to their lowest level since 2008.

While the operation was in full swing, Islamabad had repeatedly urged Kabul to ensure terrorists trying to evade the Pakistani military action. Despite the entreaties, Kabul did not eliminate terrorist safe havens on Afghan territory, allowing Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and its splinter group Jamaatul Ahrar (JuA) to carry out attacks in Pakistan.

More than a 100 lives were lost in the most recent of these attacks which prompted Pakistani forces to launch a nationwide crackdown against terrorists and their facilitators.

Four missiles fired from Afghanistan on Sunday landed in northwest Pakistan’s restive tribal region bordering Afghanistan, officials said.

One of the missiles hit a shop and other landed near a mosque in Shungak area in the remote Parachinar in Kurram Agency. Two other missiles hit a graveyard in Kachkina area.

The residents were panicked after the shop was destroyed in Shingak area. No incidents of loss of life were reported, authorities said.

An official said the missiles were fired from Afghanistan’s Paktia province.

Kurram, which borders three Afghan provinces, is one of the most sensitive tribal areas.

The incident occurred in the same area where the Pakistani Taliban on Friday targeted a Shia imambargah with a powerful car bomb, killing at least 24 people and injuring nearly 100 others at a crowded market.

The blast struck the women’s entrance of the imambargah in the remote Parachinar in Kurram Agency, sending the large number of people gathered for Friday prayers near the market into a frenzied run for safety.

Pfa should response and eliminate all of these sort of sites at once

We should create a buffer zone now

The Pakistani officials have claimed that the Kurram Agency in the Federally Administered Tribal Agency has came under rocket attack from the other side of the Durand Line in Afghanistan.

A spokesperson of the local administration quoted by Dawn News claimed that the attack left locals panicked but did not cause any loss of life.

However, the one missile struck a shop in the Shingak area, another landed near a mosque, and two others in a graveyard at Kachkina.

The source further added that the missiles were fired from Afghanistan’s Paktia province.

This comes as tensions remains high between Kabul and Islamabad over the cross-border incursions mainly involving the Pakistani military who are routinely firing artillery shells in the eastern provinces along the Durand Line.

The Afghan government earlier this month wrote a formal memo to the United Nations Security Council to file a complaint regarding the growing artillery shelling by the Pakistani military in eastern provinces of the country located along the Durand Line.

The Afghan government in its memo mentioned regarding the 1,266 artillery shells fired on eastern provinces since the month of January that has inflicted casualties to the residents besides causing collateral damage.

The memo also contained information regarding the displacement of more than 400 families due to the shelling.

Tensions between Kabul and Islamabad intensified following a series of deadly terrorist attacks in both the countries.

Both Afghanistan and Pakistan claim that the attacks are plotted and carried by the militants having safe havens in the two countries.

In the past year the Pakistani military forces have fired more than 5,000 missiles on Afghan soil displacing more than 2,500 families.

Fed up with the recent missiles, Jan Muhammad, resident of Sarkano district of Kunar province, is a victim to the Pakistan military attacks asked in frustration and anger what he did to deserve this.

Reports indicate that up to 9,000 armed insurgents are operating in areas near the Pakistani military check posts.

In addition to Sarkano, Marwara district has also been affected by the Pakistani missiles.

"Pakistan rockets were coming regularly so we were forced to leave our homes in search of safety," Jawed, a resident of Marwara district, said.
