Missile

Surely we will develop our missile power. But of all give some time to make our economy grow to 500bn or 1tn.Then we will not face problems from any sides.

But for the beginning we can just gather the technologies to have good knowledge about those.

The technology is very easy to acquire. You can ask China or Russia for Rocket technology for space program which has a dual usage. India acquired long range missile technology that way from Russia. Missile technology is not binded by NPT type nuclear proliferation.

well said every country has the right to safeguard itself :) Future has answers for everything. "Lessons learnt from past plays a vital role"

You don't have to be a scientist to realize that Bangladesh just does not have the scientific capability to build something like ballistic Missile. It takes several hundred million dollars, years of planning and contributions from hundreds of scientists to build a capable ballistic missile program.I doubt any country would be willing to help you with the tech.

Bhai! They don't understand this bit. They think building a missile is like filling a sewage pipe with gun powder, put a bomb on one end and light the other end. Boom! A rocket we have :D

Plus ballistic missiles are a waste of money if they are not nuclear. You need to invest in cruise missiles for conventional roles.

India got the missile technology from NASA in the form of sounding rockets. The earlier prithvi versions and the GSLVs were based off of that.

Russia gave the cryogenic engine technology. This is used in third stage of a rocket once it is in near outer space.

India created dedicated institutions to foster aerospace. Its not child's play. The process of creating the necessary scientific setup began in the 60s. We are reaping its fruits now.

You would need to build not only the infrastructure but also the skill set.

Well I did not say its a childs play. Its just some people need 5 decades to master it whereas Russia sent Rockets to space within 10 years of invention of Rocket engine. Thanks

Pro-Bangladeshi is a sweet term that every Bangladeshi needs to understand and not to be confused with others. You blamed BAL only but don't you think it has to be the policy of every political wing who will insist on "Bangladesh First" way? Regarding advanced weapon development, no one will give you that, you are supposed to develop by yourself. If you have 4 tires in hand, you have to draw a theme of a car in our brain. This is the way people developed their own hi tech weapon. Also, developing advanced missile tech or nuclear tech definitely requires extreme level of secrecy. Just have a look on Pakistan's story on developing nuclear weapon, what I'm saying will be clear to you :cheesy: .

BD can't follow the foot step of PAK as it doesn't possess Geo-Political independence/might, collective desire and the possibility of acquiring logistical/technological upliftment has been diminished by the massive infiltration of Bharatis in its probable strategic fields after MUA/FUA's take over. BDians are left with existential threat and only a bold, desperate move can free them up from Bharati's slavery. Let's brain storm to figure it out, shall we? BTW, we still have Kalu, Idune, MBI, Luffi and Banglar Lathial Bhai's types and that's still encouraging.

So you guys borne with silver spoons to have 100 Mills as granted to start with, right? Or collective desire to eat grass even it required to build it led you to have it by now? Agreed that it would require meticulous planning and resource allocation but given that BDians were blessed to have BUET, MIT. OXFORD's products; others would fall in place once get going gets initiated, no? And even if other country negated to provide helping hand; it would still be possible. Remember Bashir Uddin's unique centrifuge that worked and helped you to have N's prototype? Desperation could lead the imagination to starch that much, which would result extra ordinary innovation, compriente? .

Missile technology doesn't necessarily mean ICBM technology. We should start from what we are capable of. You must start from somewhere then develop. You can't resist the enemy forever depending on imported weapons. I think even adopting a plan like 'compulsory military training' or 'survival training' would prove more rewarding in the long run than spending on importing weapons.
Well thought out post, indeed. Starting from somewhere by putting good enough shields like Bharati's claim of their Nuke explosion was little Buddha's going nut, would be the effective strategy IMO. Otherwise, Saddam's fate would be 2nded on us (He had made Iraqis as the most educated, tech.know how, militarily knowledgeable among all Arabs but couldn't prevail).

I'm not saying it's impossible, but it takes a lot of time and other resources. But I'd question the value for Bangladesh. We don't have a lot of permanent enemies. Against India?

India recently successfully tested the Agni V ballistic missile with a range of more than 5,000 km. And of-course, it is nuclear capable. They have been working on the Agni series for decades. Agni I was tested on 1989 if I'm not mistaken.

Think of it this way, if I'm two steps ahead of you from beginning, and you've started just now, then I'd always be two steps ahead of you given that I keep developing. Are we anywhere near India's current technology advantage?

And trust me, they'd go further to Agni VI. This is mainly done so to deter China.

Bangladesh Navy does have a workshop for C-802 anti-ship missiles if I'm not mistaken, and that's a good start. Who knows what the future holds? Anything is possible. Technology can make leaps and bounds.

I understand that this current government is getting on people's nerves. This current drama we are seeing will go on for at least 15-20 years.
Given that everything is true that what you have stated above but then

Do you want BDians to chew their fingers while getting butt kick by Bharaties on daily basis?

They had to start from somewhere, no? You know the difference between them and us? They got the author of the 'Discovery of India' to be liberated with and we got a goon, demagogue to start with. Now let us have the parity with their weakest state and there are many out of 51 others would catch up with the strongest one, read my leaps? Hey, we are only orphans because of being boxed up but reaching others out the box would open the existing gold mine very shortly.

Russia was in a cold war with US. They dedicated the entire resources of their country both financial and people to achieve parity. Where did that leave them? bankrupt!!

I bet all those retards making fun of the thread either didn't study science beyound the twelfth class or are habitual trolls.

Just buy some Missiles from Russia or China, if am not wrong countries can sell Missiles with range of upto 300 KM. That will bring Kolkata into Bangladesh's range and that will calm down Bangladeshi paranoia atleast:cheesy:

Good to know you are Bangladeshi.

I just don’t understand what the big deal is. Every country started small, so shall we. Of course economy and education should be the primary priority but after that should come defence.

Bangladesh has overcome much adversity in its time. At one time no one thought we will ever be able to export any product other than jute!!! Our population has almost trebled since 1971 yet the nation still stands and is able to feed itself. I do not think many countries in the world would be remotely as functional as ours if faced with the combination of population growth, limited natural resources, frequent natural calamities, dysfunctional neighbourhood and political upheavals as we have gone through over the decades.

There is no shortage of intelligence in Bangladesh, what we lack is simply visionary leadership that will positively channel the inherent ingenuity of our people. Bangladesh works in spite of its many contradictions.

Step by step Bangladesh is progressing and I do not see any reason why missile technology somehow is out of reach. Just because other countries started before us is not a valid reason for us not to join the race as technological advancement is entirely non linear in respect of time.

The relentless negativity towards Bangladesh is astounding.
