Senior military advisor to Khamenei says all of Israel is within reach of Tehran's current missiles.

Israeli and US-developed missile shields are no match for Iranian missiles, a senior military advisor to the Islamic Republic's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei said Wednesday.

Calling missile defense systems protecting Israel "inefficient," Iranian Maj.-Gen. Seyyed Yahya Rahim-Safivi asserted that all of Israel is within range of Tehran's current arsenal of long-range missiles, official Iranian news agency IRNA reported.


“These missile shields which they have deployed in Turkey, occupied Palestine, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates cannot hit all our missiles,” PressTV quoted him as saying.

“They may hit some of our missiles, but the number of our missiles is so large that they will not be able to target our missiles,” he added

The senior Iranian military advisor added that the Revolutionary Guard is closely following war games taking place in the region, specifically a joint US-Israeli exercise.

The Revolutionary Guard has comprehensive information covering "even the planes being used in the exercises," according to IRNA.

But Rahim-Safivia also downplayed the likelihood of a "foolish" strike against Tehran's nuclear program. He cited the upcoming election season in the United States, saying that "it is not advisable" for US President Barack Obama to launch a new war.

Nonetheless, Iran is ready to counter any war plans against it, he added, saying that "plans have been made to respond to any military action strongly."

Iran would "make a warmonger feel regret," the Iranian general warned.

Leader's Top Military Aide Warns Israel of Rocket Rain
TEHRAN (FNA)- Senior Military Aide to the Iranian Supreme Leader Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi warned Israel that should it attack Iran's nuclear sites, Tehran and its regional allies, including Hezbollah and Hamas, will crush its cities with rocket and missile attacks.




Safavi, who formerly led the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), told Iran's Arabic-language satellite channel Al-Alam "in case of an attack by Israel, Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza will also join the fighting".

"There will be no need for Iran to launch ballistic missiles at Israel, because all the Zionist cities are within the range of our ally Hezbollah's Katyusha (rockets)," he continued.

"We have obtained extensive intelligence on all the Zionist regime's military maneuvers, including the joint exercises with NATO in the Mediterranean Sea and the joint drill with Italy, which focused on long flights," he added.

Safavi's remarks came after intensified threats from Israel that air strikes could be in the offing against Iran. Israeli President Shimon Peres said earlier this month that such action was becoming "more and more likely".

Iran has warned that it would crush the entire Zionist lands as well as Israeli and US interests worldwide.

Meantime, Muslim nations throughout the world have voiced strong support for Iran, saying that in case of a US or Israeli attack on Iran, they would joint the Iranian front to fight against Israel.

In addition to Hezbollah and Hamas, Bahraini, Egyptian and Tajik nations have warned that they are ready to support Iran.

Several Tajik NGOs active in Russia warned that if the US or Israel dares to attack Iran, they will rush to defend the Muslim Persian-language speaking nation.

"We as Tajik expatriates in Russia condemn any military attempt against Iran," the NGOs said in a statement on Tuesday.

The Tajik NGOs also voiced their deep hatred for the remarks made by Israeli President Shimon Perez on the possibility of a military attack on Iran, and underlined their strong opposition to the adventurist moves made against other countries by Israel, the US and the NATO member states who assume themselves as representatives of the world community and have attacked Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya before.
