Miss Veet Pakistan ruled the ratings charts this Saturday
The inaugural episode of Miss Veet Pakistan aired last Saturday and it looks like the audience loved it!
HIP DESK ABOUT AN HOUR AGO
We saw people drooling over a certain Chai Wala last week and while we too jumped on the bandwagon initially, we were quick to step back and reflect on the situation and wonder whether he'll find people who'll help him understand the dynamics of the industry. Well, that led our chain of thought to institutions which help talented individuals realise their dreams. Unfortunately, Pakistan is devoid of any such training centres or even finishing schools, but there is one brand which rose up to the challenge and that is Veet - a brand that celebrates beauty in its truest sense.
Veet just launched the inaugural episode of Miss Veet Pakistan this Saturday and it seems to have left a mark on the audience's mind and consequently the ratings chart. The show garnered a rating of 5.4 at one point in time which is a huge feat considering it was the very first episode of the reality show.

The episode began with Azfar Rehman, who's hosting MVP, welcoming the candidates amidst strong gusts of Karachi's breeze. The happy shiny faces looked up to the building which hosted their no-nonsense judges with hopeful eyes and all this time these girls didn't realise that they had started trending on Twitter.
MVP wasn't just a Twitter trend because the show garnered an average rating of 2.17 amongst its target audience on October 22, 2016 and that is something, because reportedly, HUM TV - which is the official media partner for MVP - had a rating of 1.26 last week on Saturday (October 15, 2016) during this time slot. The figures tell the successful story of MVP because clearly the ratings have doubled and it shows that the audience loved the reality show.
It seems the target audience of Veet was more than eager to know what Ayesha Khan, Tapu Javeri, Aamina Sheikh and Fayeza Ansari have to say to the young girls who wish to make it big in the entertainment industry.

What are the judges looking for in Miss Veet Pakistan?
Tapu Javeri feels the task is quite hard this time round and explained what MVP is all about, "We're not just looking for good looking girls - they need to be intelligent and well-spoken too."
When it comes to Ayesha Khan, she feels the task of selecting promising girls is fairly simple, because all she's looking for is desire and of course, confidence. According to Sheikh, "I'm personally looking out for girls who're over confident." We think that's not a good sign for all those 'over-confident' girls out there.
The twelve lucky girls will be mentored by Fayeza Ansari who feels honoured to be chosen to do the job.
"I had a lot of insecurities when I was growing up and since I personally know the feeling, I think I'll be able to guide these girls better about how to fight it."
Coming back to the popularity of the first episode, the last few minutes - when the judges were announcing the contestants selected for round two - enthralled the audience to an extent that the TRP went as high as 5.4! Naturally, ratings shot to the ceiling when emotions were running high as participants, who didn't make it to the final cut, comforted each other.

The first episode introduced us to Karachi's girls and the judges selected four contestants - Saara Hirji, Ramsha Kamal, Sameen Rashid, and Fizza Rizvi - who'll fly to Sri lanka for round two. How exciting is that?
The judges are now headed to Lahore for the second episode of MVP. If you missed the episode then don't fret because we have you covered - watch it here.
