Find out the forgotten story of how 22 Royal Marines faced down an Argentine invasion of a remote British Antarctic colony in April 1982.

.
After the war the British war office conducted a study of the war and they found the following points which could have won the war for Argentina

1st had Argentina invaded end of 1982 as they planned and air field was completed on the Falklands island they would have been able to do much better job at attacking the Royal Navy task force, instead they had to come from mainland with just 4 minutes of fuel for attack time

2nd had the Argentines stock piled more air launched Exocet anti ship missiles the game would be different

3rd if they short fused their air dropped bombs UK casualties would have been 5 times higher, the fuses on the 1,000 lbs did not go off because they were dropped from a very low altitude

4th if the wind didnt die down the Argentinian carrier would have launched its aircraft to attack the UK carrier strike group, but they were just outside of the operational range and heavy fuel meant they needed high winds to take off, and unlikely event in Atlantic on that day the winds were low

5th Argentina brought forward the invasion of Falklands by 6 months, they were fooled into thinking that Royal Navy hunter killed nuclear powered submarine was on its way from Gibraltar, that meant no defence of Falklands of was established and air field never completed

and finally 6th the best mountain divisions and commandos of Argentina were sent to border with Chile to avoid invasion from Chile, these crack Argentinian troops never fought on Falklands
