Militants Behead Villager in J&K​

Militants today beheaded a villager in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, a day after he was abducted.

Abdul Gani, who had gone to a pasture in Kishtwar district last night, was abducted by unidentified militants in Chatroo belt of the district, 130 kms from here, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar Bhim Sen Toti said.

He was later beheaded by the militants and his body was thrown in Kohat area of the district today.

The body was recovered by the police, which had launched a rescue operation after getting information about his abduction, the SSP said.

The body was handed over to the family after post mortem.

A case has been registered, the SSP said.

However, Sen denied reports that Gani was a local Congress leader.
